In line with the good guys deal. Nothing really ozbargain worthy but still a slight saving.

Agreed
Any chance you guys reckon 2017 ipad pro's will be on sale for EOFY?
There will probably be new iPad Pros out by then — Apple developer conference in early June is a good time to announce them, and they're due.
So, yes, likely discounts coming up, both to clear old stock, and to encourage EOFY purchases.
Might just wait for it then. Cheers!
Anyone know of JB Hi-Fi offering a discount on the HomePod?
I can't imagine it's a big seller for them, what with reports of slow sales even at Apple Stores in the US.
(Don't try to talk me out of one: I already have a HomePod… and an Echo, and a Google Home. I know the strengths of each.)
I actually want to pick up a second HomePod (at a heavily discounted price) as now that AirPlay 2 is back in the iOS 11.4 beta, it can't be that far away. And when AirPlay 2 does come, it will make HomePod really shine.
would the airplay 2 really separate to 2 different stereo channels? I thought it was more or less for "multi-room" listening… If it doesn't stereo-separate two channels properly, wouldn't two speakers basically be playing the same things at the same time?
AirPlay 2 includes a number of things and is a substantial update to AirPlay, with 7 years of generational refinements (if they can ever get it out — meant to be last year).
For HomePod, it will allow coordination between the speakers to further enhance the sound envelope. Sort of like stereo but potentially better — each speaker can sense its own environment in the room, shape the sound accordingly, and tell the other speaker what it's doing.
AirPlay 2 also greatly reduces the latency. So streaming audio from a device will have a more instantaneous reaction and less chance of skipping. This will be good for everything from playing non-Apple Music (Spotify) through the HomePod, audiobooks, podcasts, etc.
(This would also potentially make a HomePod viable for sound from media devices like a TV.)
And yes also, as you mention, multi-room playback of the same sound source, with appropriate controls popping up on the iOS device doing the streaming.
There's also more potential for HomeKit automation: "hey siri play the ozbargain theme music in the living room" , "hey siri play jamie oliver's meltdown podcast in the kitchen", and possibly (if the Home app is updated at the same time) allowing audio to be linked in with scenes:
"hey siri set the scene to chill" — dims the lights AND starts playing music.
For speakers other than HomePod, AirPlay 2 is making it possible for major speaker brands to incorporate AirPlay in their future products: Bang & Olufsen, Naim, Bose, Devialet, Dynaudio, Polk, Denon, McIntosh, Marantz, Bowers & Wilkins, Libratone, Definitive Technology, and BlueSound
In short, AirPlay 2 is big. (Again, if it ever gets here.)

Although with the same 10% discount, if you accumulate Ultimate Kids gift cards all along, JB scores a bigger discount.
Also proximity: Good Guys are normally in parking lots which means a special drive. JB Hi-Fis are often in Westfields which means a walk near where you might be going anyway.
I go past a JB Hi-Fi far more often than a Good Guys.
I used the JB Hifi 10% last time to pricematch and get extra 5% off at Officeworks. Hope that's still valid.
Officeworks now keeps their prices a dollar less than JB during such deals so no scope for this.
Moving on then
