My grandmother has been using PictureIt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Picture_It!) for years and loves making greeting cards for birthdays and Christmas, etc. She's just upgraded to Win7 Home Edition but PictureIt does not work with Win7.
I can't set up WinXP Mode within Win7 because that does not work on Win7 Home Edition.
Does anyone know of a free or reasonably priced software package that makes greeting cards and has a simple interface? It must have the ability to upload her own photos to put onto the cards.
I looked at Hallmark software in Harvey Norman (http://www.hallmarksoftware.com/products/Card_Studio_Deluxe_…) but it's $80RRP and I could only get it down to $70 best price.
A bit of searching reveals there's not a lot of truly free software in this field and I suspect the easiest outcome is to pay some cash and get something with a decent user interface that doesn't rely on the user to continuously download new templates from a website.
Thoughts, comments and suggestions all welcomed! Thanks in advance!
I should also add that she's aware she can go print a photo card at a kiosk in a store but she'd prefer to do it herself since (1) she has more time to edit and place the image at home rather than being pressured for the machine by other customers, and (2) she has a decent colour laser printer and photo quality paper.
