Will be heading to Hong Kong for 6 nights with the misses for our honeymoon. I already have a Citibank debit card and 28 deg credit card. Is it worthwhile setting up a WeChat pay account as well? Will this make it easier to shop at street markets that might not have a terminal?

I just use my Credit Card everywhere and our metro card is called Octopus (is accepted as a preloaded cash card at most shops + transport)
I'm from HK, I go back there at least once a year, and I've never heard of WePay. You'll be fine with whatever debit/credit cards you have. But better use cash at street markets. And yes, get an Octopus card. You can get one at the airport.
No. The Citibank card and masteraces are sufficient

The only place in HK that I know for sure accepts WePay is Maccas.

WePay likely more popular in mainland China rather than Hong Kong.
WePay is used in mainland China so naturally you will NOT find it used much at all in Hong Kong.

have been using the same octopus card for 8 years now, each time i go back there's more and more places you can use it.
I think a lot of places in HK take debit/credit card, not so much WeChat pay. Many fast food joints and convenience stores allow you to pay with your Octopus card so might be worth looking into that.
