lol
Working in sydney from illawarra..
that's 100km every day for 8 years
Such devotion salute
looks like we have a winner /thread
Clean your MAF sensor with some contact cleaner (not sure if a 2010 Yaris has a MAF or MAP sensor.). Clear code and see if it comes back. If the stability control light comes on at the same time, maybe the stability control has something to do with engine management and an error code on one throws an error on the other.
For ABS related issues, you may need to get a workshop to read that fault code. Most ELM based cheap OBDII readers won’t do ABS or SRS. Only engine lights.
2010 yaris has a MAF..did some sprays on it..i will see if it comes again..i'll be driving it later to sydney..also..when those two pops out, and i'm running on a 110kph..you put on Neutral..instead of powering down..it revs up to to 4rph..scary..lol
So if you are on the freeway at 100 kph and take your foot off the accellerator and shift to neutral, the engine revs to 4000 rpm? Is cruise control still on?
I don't have cruise control.. :)
it revs up to to 4rph.
I had a Skyline with a broken MAF that used to do that.
yeah..hopefully.its just the MAF problem, not the coilpack…
4rph?
do you mean it revs up to 4 revolutions per hour?
@saaanjay: 4K RPM.
P0100 MAF = Self Destruct Sequence Activated
MAF sensor could be bad after so many kilometers, very simple to replace or you can remove and hit it with some MAF cleaner (from auto store) - lots of youtube vids to show you how.
Stability has nothing to do with the MAF - this usually relates to the abs system or possibly the rolling diameter of the tyres. I know on Subaru's, having mismatched or a heavily worn tyre on one corner can throw a stability light
Didn't read the thread - cleaning already covered above :P
Looking on eBay an aftermarket MAF (new) will set you back as little as $30.
Strangely, according to https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/116407-trcvsce…, the Stability ad traction control lights can come on for unrelated problems as well…. Odd!
OK so the stability control may be related to an EGR valve that needs cleaning/Replacement - seems strange, but the stability control kills the engine power by activating the EGR to recirculate exhaust gas.
Of course, it could be a number of other root causes, but I found this interesting.
did some sprays that i've got from the sttores..just to add up, engine lights comes out after driving 100/110kph for about 20mins..doesn't come out running on a 80kph or less.
Didn’t even know a Yaris could do 110kph
I drove a corolla at 100 and it started shaking….
If you’re doing long distances it might Be time for a upgrade to something with cruise control
could do more than that..lol
I’m shocked you drive this
It's OK. Has bumper sticker "My Other Car is $80K High Yield Investment"
You've got exceptional mileage and use from the car if you can afford it put the thing to pasture and buy a new ….Yaris rinse & repeat FYI I have a mate that also has a yaris probably a 2007 or 8 model hes done over 200,000 and the car runs like a dream mind you he does get it serviced at recommended intervals and drives at required speed limits so yes the Yaris can do 110 klms and last forever, His car has never had any problems and he's too tight to replace it so I'll update in 10 yrs when its done million clicks LOL

Airflow sensor issue.
I can't believe some poor soul has done 285,000 kilometres in a Yaris!
