UGG Boots

There are so many UGG boots how do you tell which one is genuinely the original UGG?

Many UGG sites pop up in Google, have no idea which one is the real deal. Also if you know where to buy them at "some" discount would be great.

Thanks!

  • This site is legit (original)

for legitamacy, first thing i look for is web design—>if it doesn't look professional, it's not legit(in most cases)
probably price, "cheap" ugg boots tend to be fake

  • UGG Australia isn't really an Australian company. It's an American company that trademarked the name. It's actually cheaper to buy UGGs in the states than Australia. I was recently in Canada, and compared UGG boots, and the price in Canada was $50 less.

That site www.uggaustralia.com, doesn't sell to Australia! Only to Canada, USA and the UK. lol go figure.

  • Trying to find the exact article, but an OS company registered UGG as a trademark, and then sent Cease and Desist Letters to all UGG manufacturers in Australia. There was a big stink at the time, and all the manufacturers changed to UGH boots.

  • When I loaded this page, I got a Google advert for http://www.uggstore.com.au

It almost looks like an endorsement, due to the way that the google ads are placed after the OP but before our replies

  • http://www.aprescoast.com.au/ has real uggs. At the time I purchased the online store had cheaper than the shop in Sydney (geogre street, close to martin place). I bought some that were on discount for a gift, LUGGed them all the way to US and they were $20 cheaper there in an upmarket shop.
Look for the reduced items in the online shop and ask if you can pick up at one of their retail outlets to save on postage.
I think they "original Uggs" are UGGAustralia.
I remember the legal issue Davo111 mentioned. I thought the outcome was that UGG was a generic term that could be used and that is why we don't know which is "original" or "copy". That said, there are some good UGGS that don't have the "original" (read price surcharge) tag.

I found this http://www.uggaustralia.com/au/counterfeit.aspx where uggaustralia are trying to encourage you to buy "authentic. They also have a list of authorized sellers.
