What would compel you to go to Launceston?
Probably wants extra digits
Why Qantas?
If its FF miles then its an expensive way to get these.
Its cheaper with Jetstar and if you pay more to Jetstar, then u get FF miles.
If its Lounge access you get that with Jetstar (Sydney means extra walk from terminal 2)
I want that flight has monthly views for cheap tickets, I think you can select which airlines to include. Webjet can be useful too, but they charge a surcharge to book via them, obviously.
There is no such thing as a cheap Qantas flight to Launceston. Early morning flights with Jetstar are normally $45 with Club Catch or $55-$69 without Club Catch and no baggage.
I recently moved to Launceston for work. The cheapest way to get to/from the Mainland is via frequent flyer points. My preference is Virgin Australia because they use normal Boeing 737 aircraft (vs Qantas' turboprops), and I have VA Platinum status. They are often not that much more expensive than Jetstar.
For full service, Qantas are 8,000 points one way and Virgin Australia is 7,800 points one way, to Sydney or Melbourne. These are flat rate prices, although availability will vary during peak times (usually weekends). Jetstar are 6,400 QFF points one way, including 20kg luggage.
Otherwise Jetstar will be cheapest in terms of cash prices, usually. Virgin Australia can be cheap too (~$69 everything included) during their Thursday happy hour sales.
Wait for a Jetstar sale and get $35 flights each way. Qantas is always $$
Qantas flights to Launceston are expensive and are on turboprops.
If possible fly with Jetstar.
