I'm ditching my 5.1 AV system for something smaller and more streamlined. I want to utilise my existing subwoofer with 2 bookshelf sized speakers. No amp either. I'm bascially after something a little more robust than a soundbar. Budget around 1k. Any suggestions? Right now I'm looking at System Audio Saxo 1 speakers. Cheers!

I have seen good reviews on Aktimate Mini+, JBL LSR305, and AudioEngine A5+. When people comparing Minis vs A5, Minis get the most recommendation. Sound+Image also reviewed Minis and a group of wireless speakers including System Audio Saxo 1 here
At he moment Aktimate Mini+ B available from Ebay $399 a pair, and JBL LSR305 $189 for one speaker - extra 5% off with code PULL5
Audioengine A5+? They can be had for just under $600 and are well reviewed: https://www.whathifi.com/audioengine/a5/review
I don't have personal experience with the A5+ but I do have the smaller A2+ and the quality on them is amazing - not as strong as the bigger bookshelf speakers and amp in the living room, but noticeably clearer. I'd wager the A5+ extra size would give them that extra strength.
