  • tell 'em the price son

    • no worries - first timer here. Its $149 for the device that lasts forever. But you can keep it going after the free 10gb

  • $149? Thanks, but no thanks.

We're better off buying multiple SIMs from simsdirect mate. This isn't a bargain in any sense of the word.

    • One Sim for every country and interchange SIM's all the time? Pay seperate data bundles per SIM? We are unlimited for 200+ countries, no need to choose SIMs.

Way too expensive. Much cheaper to get a local sim! In some countries you can get unlimited data, calls and texts for about $30 for a month!

    • Sure if you intend to stay in that country for the month. If you are travelling multi country you can then use it when you want to.

      • I would still be cheaper off to buy one for $30 and only use it for 5 days. At your price I could go to 5 different countries, pay the same and have 5 months worth of service.
I am sorry but that service is way too expensive and preys on the uninformed only. I tell everyone to stay away from services like this as I consider them a rip-off.
I bet the profit margin on those approaches 900-1000%.

        • You can use 10GB of data and travel 20 countries. Plus its not perishable like the SIMs. Its a device you can use and hand to someone else.

        • @pchye:

I could do that with the local ones, too. Probably get some money for it too to reduce the cost.
I am sorry but if that cost $30AUD that would be good but at the price you are selling I can really only consider it a rip-off and strongly advise against it.
Plus we have not even considered that in many countries there are free wifi spots making a sim purely for data not that important.

        • @Lysander: I would suggest you avoid using free wifi hotspots as you will more than likely be attacked and have your info stolen. If you do your sums, its much cheaper in the end. Especially for frequent travellers.

          @pchye:

I have done my sums. And what you say is bullshit. Countries like Germany and the Netherlands have very high security standards, especially on their library etc. wifis.
Plus people here are quite tech savy so can protect themselves.
You are just scaremongering now to peddle an overpriced, quite useless product.
The fact you are trying this shows me that you know you have been called out on the overprice. When I have time I am going to have a look at your competitors - I am sure I can come up with a cheaper offer, even in the rip-off world of these sims.

        • @Lysander: Hey - thats great - thanks for doing a comparison for us. You never know when you travel what can happen, I guess thats why people buy travel insurance too.

        • @pchye: ozbargainers don't buy travel insurance, we use the complimentary ones provided with travel credit cards.

You can use 10GB of data and travel 20 countries.

3 days per country sounds like a horrible travel plan.

I will spend $5 per day on voda to get my 16gb data per month.

    • No problem - Think of us when you need it in the other 30+ countries that Voda doesn't support in the $5 per day.

Just a hint: your attitude and attempts to defend the indefensible don't make you any friends and do not go down to well on here.

    Nah not a deal

  • What is the usual price? (after the limited time offer)

  • Dubious deal. Travelling around Europe, the US some of Asia and Sth America you can use 3 and get 12GB roaming across nearly the entire continent for AU$60 on one sim. You can even use up any remaining data in Australia!

  • yeah nah

Just a note to those who are staying in Singapore for a week or so, you can get the tourist Sim card which has 100GB of data for $15. Got one of these whilst I was there.

  • What is the length of time that the 10 GB of data lasts for?
Ie- is there an expiry time?

    • 10 days within 60 days. So expires after 60 days. Useless and super-expensive.

  • yeah, spent 5 weeks travelling in asia. spent $50 tops on different local Sims, each ranging from 2-10gb each plan. Most expensive being Japan… 4G usage is usually not high when travelling. Also OP's reply doesn't reflect kindly on their servi ce.

Only way I see this as value if you choose to roam whole of europe and asia with one day in each country. But at that point you might've give up 4G and use the infrequent wifi.

  • While I agree it's not the cheapest option, it's not a fair comparison to SIMs and plans without a device.

Is this the same device as the GLocalMe G3? (https://www.glocalme.com/mall/wifi) Does it support 2 SIM cards in addition to the e-SIM?

Also, could you advise if it covers Japan 4G frequencies and bands?

  • How long does the 10GB last for, it is also 60 days like the 10 day deal?

I will be travelling zones 1,2,3, & 4 (China, Germany, Hong Kong, Norway & UAE) over 60 days will this cover it?

Also is Google etc blocked in China or does it run via overseas servers?
