Looking for Underpinning for The House

Hi,

I noticed that a crack in the front outer brick wall running from the ground of my house and recently the crack has gone a little bigger maybe due to the dry weather and not much of rain.I could follow the crack/the gap through the side windows (large windows)
has widened as well. I am trying to get some quotes and one of the underpinning companies came to give a quote and mentioned to me that a surveyor needs to be engaged and there will be a charge for that.

I don't mind paying for the surveyor the only thing is if I need to get a quote for comparison I will be needing the report else will end up paying for every time.

Since most of the companies are advertising that they offer free quotes but looks like they do charge for the survey report,
I would like to know if we can get 2 or 3 quotes for comparison before we can start the work ?

Is there any good underpinnning companies which someone has used or recommend who can work in the eastern suburb of Melbourne near Mitcham ?

    of course……… but quotes are not always free.

      If the quote isnt free go with someone else, quotes should always be free.

        quotes don't have to be free and larger jobs that require lots of prework, often charge to stop time wastes.

          Usually you will find companies who charge for quotes will discount the cost of the quote if you go ahead.

          If you mention it is for insurance often they want to charge you for the quote.

    Haha strangely I would also like to know some good underpinning companies or an reputable structural engineers I could get to come out and look at my place, similar problem!

      Am looking at both the Concrete and resin underpinning. I will share the information once I finalise.

    Make sure your downpipes are connected to stormwater system, don’t let them drain onto ground next to house
