I-Mju Hatomugi Skin Conditioner (Hydrating Toner) 500ml $8.54 Delivered @ Fresh Cosmetics eBay

220
PUMP20

This is a best-selling skin care product that's sold for 702 yen in Japan (650 yen + tax), which converts to around $8.50 - so this price point is great for Australia and saves you from lugging back a huge bottle from Japan on your next holiday. It is a hydrating toner contains Job's tears/Coix seed extract, has no fragrance or added colour and is low-irritant, and non-sticky. It comes in a huge 500ml bottle and can be used on face or body. I'd imagine it'd be great to use this in the 7 skin method.

If you're not familiar with asian skincare, they sometimes call toners 'lotions'. There are many different functions for toners and most of them are not meant to be used as a final step for cleansing (like some western toners) but to prepare your skin for serums and moisturisers. So please clean your skin, double-cleanse if necessary, before applying this product.

See official video on how to use it (Japanese only, but you get the idea). Product details on official website (Use google translate).

Disclaimer: I have not used this personally, but the reviews look great.

So, er … "asian skincare" appears to consist of applying ridiculously priced cleansers everyday that work as well as pH balanced soap or Dove Beauty Bar - then smearing an oily substance called moisteriser on your face if it's the morning or pretending retinol treatments do something if it's the evening (or just smear more oil on, why no).

The unique twist is spraying water on your face 7 times before moisterising and pretending that does something.

You forgot the bit about the special snail semen that makes the skin whiter.

      • Snail SERUM… But whatever floats your boat

      • Fun fact, some snails are hermaphrodites.

      • Just go get a bunch of snails out of the garden and get them to bukkake you

    • Hahah 'asian skincare' have you ever heard of the brand La Mer? Western skincare brands have a range of prices from cheap to ridiculously expensive just like asian skincare brands. If you don't know much about skincare then maybe you just shouldn't comment :)

    • Ignorant. Better stick to what you know best….which is being ignorant, so I guess you win.
      Where's your political comment?

    So you have used this?

Thanks for the post, OP :)

    • Oops! Corrected. I have not used it :p

  • Thanks OP, hopefully it's still available in the morning so I can research before purchasing :)

    • I think you'll be ok. I noticed that they keep changing the remaining quantity…goes down from 10 then goes back up to 10 again.

Definitely a good price for in Australia. I bought this whilst in Japan at a slightly cheaper price (around 540 yen/AUD6ish). Personally, it didn't suit my skin, but my mum really liked it!

    • Oh I see, may I ask what skin type you are? Just curious.

      • +1

More importantly, what skin type is the mum.

          I am dehydrated-oily
          Mum is probably dry?

        • @tanoshiiki: Thanks.
When you said it didn't suit your skin, does that mean you didn't like the texture, or other? It's just that I was thinking of recommending this to a friend who is also oily/dehydrated.

@moocher: I felt that this did not provide the hydration my skin required. I would say my skin is very dehydrated and this wasn't the right product for me. The texture is very light and is a little refreshing. I did not react adversely to it, I just felt it wasn't for me. I prefer Hada Labo.

        • @tanoshiiki: Ah ok. Thanks so much for the feedback :)

        • @tanoshiiki: Interesting. Where do you buy your hado labo?

        • +1

@Hen: In Japan. You can buy in Australia too, but I find it's usually 3 times the price. Places I've found it include certain Daiso stores.

Good deal. For those in Melbourne CBD, $10 is their everyday price at the shop next to Tim Ho Wan.

  • received mine today. Date on bottom is 20171102. Just wondering if this expiry date or date of manufacture??
