Went into the new Morgan's IGA in Glengala (Ardeer) Victoria and saw that they had slabs of Becks for $29.99 a slab. These are the German imported slabs.
Great price for a good beer. You could always try and price match First Choice or Dan's based on the photo.
Not sure if this limited to Morgans IGA or in all IGA stores.
No expiry date listed on the sign, and they had a big tower of them.

This was one of the Morgans IGA's which they have 5 or 6 of them in Melbourne's western suburbs (Delahay, Deer Park, Ardeer St Albans)
As it's a managers special, I suspect it only applies to the store the OP went to.

Warning: Last time IGA had these for $30 i bought a slab, took 1 sip of the first beer and threw the rest out. They tasted stale and had a very metallic taste, They were about 2-3 weeks before there expiry date. What i would do this time is price match Dan Murphy or First choice, that way, you get beer that isn't gonna expire in 2 weeks for a cheap price.

Like others mentioned above, I suspect they are very near exp. date and store manager wants them moved quickly.
I've seen them in IGA Mt Waverly recently for same price. They were the Thailand variety.
I bought this price matched at 1st choice - caroline springs(Becks - expires in mid June 2011)
Originally went to buy Stella Artois (Becks and Stella Artois both are on special in IGA-Glengala) but the indian guy at 1st choice refused to match because IGA don't have them in stock, so bought Becks.
I went into my local IGA and saw a big stack of these on the floor and saw the expiry date was 10/12/10…
