So I bought the Sony WH-1000XM2s from this awesome deal by headphonejack, with an estimated delivery time of 17 April or earlier. I received an email that said there was a delay from their supplier and that they would receive the stock late next week and would then send it on to me.
I replied saying that my friend who ordered on the same night had received his pair (he actually had), and that I had ordered it expecting it to be delivered by the 17th. I then asked for a refund of the shipping costs of $4.95 because of the delay and to show that JB Hi-Fi cares for it's customers.
I just received an email and paypal notification that the shipping costs had been refunded.
TL,DR - If JB Hi-Fi are late on shipping, try asking for a refund of the shipping costs or some other compensation, you may be surprised.
