  • Do you know whether this is compatible with Apple Home kit?

No it is not. They have suggested that sometime towards the end of the year a software update will enable it on their models, but I wouldn’t buy based on that if homekit is important to you.

      Follow the thread here… http://forum.yeelight.com/t/homekit-support-coming-soon/3437

      • Thanks! Yeah, going to steer clear until its confirmed. Hard to have my home automated if it requires so many different applications & platforms. Balancing Google & Apple is enough.

      • It looks like there are a couple of Yeelight plugins for Homebridge (allows the use non-Homekit devices on HomeKit) - https://www.npmjs.com/search?q=homebridge%20yeelight. You need to get Homebridge running on a computer on your network and it runs nicely on a Raspberry Pi Nano W (what I use). I'm already using the Xiaomi wifi power plug and some Magic Home LED light strips via Homebridge and it works perfectly.

  • Great first post OP. Thanks.

  • There’s a new brighter model out now for around $30AUD delivered. Probably a better buy than the old model…

  • Need gu10, never seen deals on this type ☹️

    • They don't make one… Just use an adapter…

      • Companies like LIFX do but you'll notice they never include them in any "sales".

Thanks everyone! I purchased 4 with expedited shipping. Already own 3 pieces. Very happy with the performance and the app that comes with it.

Using it with google home and I can confirm that this thing works great. I have set it to work with my Dlink senses placed right outside the front door. Between 6:45 to 7:15 ( my usual get home from work time) if the dlink sensor detects movements, all the lights in my house bright up to 30%.

Great for basic home automation projects or simply for turning your lights from the comfort of under the doona!

These work great with Home Assistant too.
