After a very boring night I decided to check out a few of my 500+ (thanks OzBargain) udemy courses. WTF…. are the author's all wankers or wtf?
Udemy Courses Are a Joke? Author's So Far Are Unsatisfactory?
Comments
Thank you for your comment. I know my comment was quite harsh but I can't believe people could watch such crap. I was not watching tech savy stuff, more personal development and blog writing etc.. I really wish I could take it back. Next time I have a boring night streaming or Netflix ONLY!
What I mean by take it back is have you ever seen something that you wish you had never seen but it's kind of scared in your memory? Well you can never unsee it? Once I was at the Bayview pub and…………
they are free.
what do you expect.post some bargains, this is ozbargain not ozwhinge.

Welcome to the MOOC revolution!!
I can see there's a need for an apostrophe usage course. :)
Yes sorry, I was missing one
:-|
I found two spare.
The other course's author's are (profanity)'s.
Hence the reason I have all Udemy courses blocked…
Folding paper in 3 easy steps.
Improved bench top cleaning strategy.
Advanced correct mirror adjustment techniques.
Towels, a complete history and how to.
How to get the most enjoyment out of your morning coffee.
How to follow instruction manuals. The definitive guide.
Computers and the hidden features of the power button.Someone needs to develop a game in the “cards against humanity” style and call it, “Courses of Udemy” where points are awarded for the stupidest combination of words to make a book title.
Maybe there is a course for building card games… BRB…
Coffee yes, count me in😉
Now I'm intrigued as to the hidden features of the power button…
You’re just going to have to do the course… :D

You get what you pay for.
I'm doing the A Cloud Guru AWS course on Udemy and it's been great so far.
I added one of the freebie AWS courses and took a look, but between the horrible spelling and grammar and the bad presenter it really doesn't motivate you to complete the course. You have to pay to get the decent ones. The free ones that appear here are normally low quality that and they really are making it free on the off-chance that if you like it, you will give them publicity of some sort.
If you are a good teacher and you are putting in the effort to make content, wouldn't you want to be compensated?! at least a cup of coffee, right?
Cup of great coffee, yes count me in! But decent coffee well that could be a whole other thread. By the way I enjoyed your comment😊
I've spent around $100 or more on Udemy and the courses seem ok. Just check the review of each course.
The OzBargain scriptures gravely state that "Thou shall collect free Udemy courses in all their great abundance, but thou shalt not set thine eyes upoon their maleficent bosoms, lest thou be faced with the wrath of the Lord".
Love it
And love it more
Thank you for your comments, and whoever changed my title!. I was a bit under the weather at that time and thought I would get a roasting (and kind of was looking forward to that). But alas I found some people that got my shit. Love to you all!!
Udemy is Etsy for tutorials. Anyone can post anything without oversight or quality control and can charge what they like for it. I have seen some excellent tutorials on Udemy, but they do tend to be the exception. The signal to noise ratio is very high. But sometimes worth the trouble.
the point of the free courses is to boost student numbers to make the course look more legitimate … as only the real interested ones watch it and learn from it, post the stars, re-enforcing the course and making it look better than what it is.
I have over 300+ courses, 90% i bought on sales, i have done about 15 of them, and learned a lot, but im in IT and a visual learner, so helps a lot.
Another free site for tutorials is YouTUBE … :p
I dont want to sound racist, but stay away from the indian "teachers", their accent and bland teaching method makes it hard to learn as you are spending most of the time trying to understand than, than absorb the info.
Not sure, but I know most of the Udemy courses I've seen have been pretty subpar, so far so I never bother with Udemy and will almost always pick any other option if I have the choice. In saying that though, most of the things I look for are programming related which is like a dime a dozen when it comes to online courses.
