Surely you have a USB 3 port on your computer?.
just need a USB A port on laptop or PC , and it's good to go, you can also buy USB-C to A adapter cables if you have latest MacBook pro, or a USB hub …. these will sell quick.
Type c is just a much better connection, future is type c, pbly clearing these out for USB c models
If you want future proofing with this. Why not get one of these USB 3 to USB-C adaptor?. Can then use the drive on any computer with USB-C. No worries then.
