Cheapest Online Store to Buy Whisky?

Hi guys,

I've started an expensive whisky habbit, and I'm looking for cheap online stores to buy bottles from.

I've had the Whisky Exchange and Masters of Malt recommended to me, but it's hard to tell if they're actually cheaper due to the high shipping costs.

Are there any stores that you could recommend to me? Or is it best to wait for what I want to be on sale at Dan Murphy's or First Choice?

Many thanks.

You could try this service if they are massively cheaper overseas?

You can always do a search at Boozle and see what comes up. It includes some online stores as well as brick and mortar.

While I'm here, what brand whiskey do you enjoy OP?

My two favourites at the moment are Lagavulin 16, and Ardbeg Uigeadail! Lagavulin was the drink that got me in to whiskies.

Nicks.com.au seems to have some good prices though i havent ordered from them so can't give my experience. I've found that prices tend to flux pretty wildly in general, so a few alerts at boozle.com can be useful to catch whiskys at their cheapest.

If you know anyone going overseas, tell them to grab you a bottle or two. Whiskey prices at the airport are CHEAP! Heres their website.. just change it to your airport, but i've found Melbourne and Sydney have similar price http://www.heinemanndutyfree.com.au/sydney_en/spirits/whisky

Nicks.com.au has great prices on certain whiskies - recommend the Glenfarclas 105 for a bargain cask strength and can't go wrong with the Glenfiddich 18yr for $99 (last time I checked).

Be careful at duty free - lots of new cheap NAS whiskies which don't live up to their age-statement brethren.

  • gooddrop.com.au has some good deals

also for Dan Murphy you sometime find it cheaper if you change location to a different state then add to cart and the price wont change when you pick up from the more expensive store.(i am in WA and some not all can be very different prices)

  • I've ordered a number of times from Master of Malt. Have not yet had to pay any import duties (no guarantees here though)!

    Much, much cheaper.
