Device to Watch Movies/TV Shows

Been using my Moto G5 to watch shows at work (yes I'm allowed), but only a 5 inch screen and having to hold it is not the best viewing experience. Would ideally like to keep it around the ~$300 range, only need it to be able to put some movies on and a decent battery for a 12 hour shift. Any suggestions? I see there is a popular Apple iPad 2018 9.7" Wi-Fi 32GB $459 deal running atm and wondering if anything would be a close competitor?

    You'll likely struggle to find something that can do 12 hours of video playback, many Android tablets are more like 7 hours continuous playback or so but a powerbank will get you through.

      Never owned a tablet before but i've got a 20,000mAh Xiaomi charger so I should be right then

      +1 Lenovo P8 8" can be had for around $150 from Gearbest when on sale.
      The speakers are excellent and the screen quality is very good.

      Alternatively grab the cheapest used laptop you can find.

        Would be hoping to get abit bigger screen though, 8" is not that much bigger than my phones screen

          They do a 10" too.

          Secondhand 17" laptop would be your best, cheap option for a big screen.
          Eg a Dell Inspiron 1720 like my wife's.
          Core2Duo machine still going strong today. Can probably be had for $50.
          SSD installed as the primary drive has improved usability remarkably.

          I'm assuming you have access to power, you just need portability to be able to pack up each night, so battery life is irrelevant?

      I'm guessing night time building security. The kind of job where the only thing you need to do is patrol the building once an hour and the rest is sitting at reception.
