Moto G5 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy A5

Hi guys, looking to buy a phone for my mum which she will use for the usual stuff i.e. WhatsApp, Viber, YouTube, Facebook, web browsing, and camera. She's not going to be an intensive user but want something reliable, easy to use, and a phone which won't keep lagging.

Looking for a phone with a screen no bigger than 5.2". Capacity of 32GB. Looking to spend $300-400, and am ok waiting for a special deal.

Have narrowed it down to Moto G5 Plus and Samsung Galaxy A5. Which is better?

Have I missed anything?

    Samsung Galaxy A5 for: Water and Dust resistant (IP68), Super AMOLED resolution, better front and rear camera with 16 MP. Both phones lacks notification led light but Samsung Galaxy A5 has always on display, so +1 for Samsung Galaxy A5.

    Using an A5 right now and I can say it was well worth the money. Managed to get it on sale at Costco.

        I got it on sale for $380 but I think online has better prices nowadays given the age of the phone now. I believe Costco still sells them for around $490 but I'm not sure.

    I'm a big fan of the Moto G series. Have had a G4 Plus for the last 12 months and just bought a G5 Plus to replace it. Before that I had a Samsung Galaxy S6 and Xiaomi Mi 4i.
    The Moto version of Android has NO bloatware, there is only one non Google app that I have seen, which is there for the features of shaking phone to turn the light on or twisting phone to open up camera.

    The reason I went for the Moto G4 Plus originally is the dual 4G/3G sim (Telstra work sim and Kogan personal sim), with a separate microSD card slot. Unfortunately the G5S Plus doesn't have a separate microSD slot and shares the Sim2 slot. So can't use 2 sims and an SD card.
    Awesome battery life on the G4 Plus, can get a couple days usage if I'm not streaming music or video from my Plex server, GPS chews the battery as well, but I always charge my phone while commuting anyway.
    I actually haven't started using the G5 Plus yet, waiting for the case and screen protector to arrive in the post.
