Scythe and Grand Hotel Austria are a nice price.

    • Whats Scythe like? Seems like an overly complex game

great prices for Patchwork and Hanabi especially, can't go wrong.

    • what's hanabi or patchwork like? Brainless for paties with inpatient board gamers?

      • +1

Hanabi is very much NOT brainless.

oops. so not worth getting for brainless party games for non gamerss playing games i.e. the typical dixit loving, cranium people who throw fits waiting for the explanation of rules or reading the instructions for 15 minutes when you open a new game?

        • @SaberX:
Rules are simple, the game is hard. Have a look at a YouTube video, shouldn't take like 5 minutes to get a grasp on the general idea.

        • @SaberX: it's not brainless, but I've played it with cranium and monopoly types and they've been absolutely fascinated by it.

you can explain the rules in less than 5 minutes too btw.

        • @diamondd: And then it only needs 5 minutes of thinking for each player to make their turn ;)

It's a fantastic game, but you everyone has to think to win.

        • @abb: I wouldn't hold that against it, any game sucks when you play it with disinterested people.

      • patchwork is a nice, easy 2 player game. We've enjoyed it even with a 3rd person watching (but we are very easy going). It's easy to learn. I'd recommend

        • I tried it on android, thought it was meh. Buy it on your phone then refund within the trial period to see if you like it

        • @justtoreply: The trial and refund is a good strategy if you are unsure. I don't think I would play this game on a device, as it's charm is about sharing company in real life, on a real table, with a simple game :)

  • Meant to be a reply :'(

  • Not that good prices for some of board games.. The prices was increased before being reduced.

    • Not sure if they were increased prior to being reduced but there are definitely a number of games which say they have been discounted by 30% however this discount only puts them in line with what you can get them for elsewhere.

Sucks when something says 30-40% off but is still very easy to find cheaper or identical price elsewhere

  • Just want to know is the Catan game an expansion and you still need the base game?

    • you would still need the base Catan game to utilise the expansion

    Go Fish is $4

    • You're the MVP

  • is pandemic sold out?

    • Looks that way

  • Decent price for the Australian-designed Imhotep:

  • FYI Delivery for one boardgame to 2000 p/c was $6. I find these sites so frustrating how they don't make delivery fee estimation an upfront feature.

Might be beneficial for some to buy through Might Ape's eBay store http://stores.ebay.com.au/Mighty-Ape-AU?_trksid=p2047675.l25… to take advantage of 5% off and cashrewards.

  • If anyone is still after Pandemic, like I was, crazydeals_365 has it for $46.84 delivered on ebay: goo.gl/yGhW55

5 left though. I made sure I got one before I posted =)

    • Beware its not a fake - no idea if 'crazydeals_365' is legit or not.

      • Hmm how can we beware though. I bought a couple of Catan boxes from Ozgameshop when they had the 10% off boardgames sale…and the quality surprised me in a bad way. I did think maybe they were fake but unless I'm going to head into brick and mortar and buy it there, there is no way to tell.

        • OzGameShop likely ok, but unknown ebay, Facebook or Amazon vendors very risky.

        • @norkle: Agree but the two boxes I got from Ozbargain were shocking. I don't know if all 5th edition Catan is like that but damn I'm half convinced they are fakes. The pop out pieces weren't cut properly so we had to take a knife to half of them so that they don't rip the backing paper in half.

      • Received goods, pretty sure they are counterfeit. The quality is no different than the one I received from Ozgameshop. Just shows you can get counterfeits from any avenue.
