Was looking to buy an acer predator helios 300. What do you guys think about this one for 1784 AUD, scorptec has a similar version of this one with 256 SSD and 2 tb HDD instead for 100 more. What so you guys think.

Get one from gumtree.. I haggled a few with exact same specs for like a $1000 AUD.
15.6" 1080p 16gb RAM GTX 1060 256gb SSD i7-7700HQ
Plenty selling on there you can definitely beat this price.
Alternatively order from America and buy new power pack or adapter.
Save about $150 AUD easily.
Do you guys know if this laptop has a 1060 max q or a regular one. Can't find it anywhere ?
I'd say it doesn't have the max q variant. I'd think reviews would say so if it did have it.
Like this comparison http://laptopmedia.com/highlights/acer-predator-helios-300-1…
I'm pretty sure that is the Desktop version and not Max Q.
Regular one.
Look up GTX 1060 laptop. Go from there your options improve immensely.
Asus specific software is great but not a few hundred dollars extra great.
Find the one with the right specs for you. I guarantee you will find what you are looking for at a better price.
Well I could not find a laptop on gumtree that is way cheaper than the new one to be honest, 1000 aud would be a bargain but i found some for 1500-1650 aud used with not much of a warranty left. As of buying from amazon.us to spare just 150-200 and have "no warranty" and wait for a few weeks to deliver I think it's not Worth it either, rather buy it at a local Retail Store.
You have to be prepared to haggle. Most won't budge more than a hundred dollars maybe or so but some will easily go down in price for you but not too much but enough it is worth it to haggle.
Found a student selling one with similar specs for near 1000 AUD.. didn't have the cash at the time so lost the sale.
But yeah you can get some major savings on gumtree particularly if you haggle. Sometimes eBay sellers are also willing to haggle a bit if you ask.. you just have to be prepared for the many "No" and "Sorry" replies you will get and "don't waste my time"
very thicc and very bicc boi
