A-RAM 32GB TRX-200 USB3.0 Flash Drive, TURBO Series, High Read/Write Speed for $55

250

I just spotted this offer from their mailing list. USB 3.0 in a flash drive.

I think the price is good for a 32GB stick.

Anybody can comment on A-RAM?

Yep, USB 2.0 usually tops out around 30MB/s so you wont get quite those speeds on a USB 2.0 PC.

      • +1

On a computer with a decent USB host, you will get 40MB/s maximum, so this will do the same speeds whether or not you have USB2.0 or USB3

    • USB 3.0 only. The best you can do with USB 2.0 is around 30/20.

    "Anybody can comment on A-RAM?"

Well today I had my A-RAM 16gb stick run over by a reversing car and it still works, take that as you will.

  • Would be interesting to know what is the sustained read/write speed is. I doubt it's limited by USB2.0.

    • All my USB flash drives show constant speeds on testing. Does yours go up and down?

      • They never go up, just down.

  • I grabbed z 32gb corsair for $32 from Mymemorys xmas sale, but this is quite good. +

    • delivered?

    • mymemory.co.uk doesn't sell usb 3.0 flash drive

  • I hear their SSD products are falsely advertised.

    • can you elaborate? any reference, example?

      • There is a thread on OCAU forums about it. The users who purchased the ssd brought it up with A-RAM only for A-RAM to dismiss the issue.

hmm postage is almost $10, so if your in VIC you can grab this for the same price from PCCG at $65..

    • I bought 2. Postage was $7.95 for TWO!
      PCCG is $65 + shipping.

  • What's the write speed if you format the usb stick to NTFS?

    It's usually slower than FAT32.

  • I wonder if I can pickup, I only live 15 mins away. Doesn't say anywhere on the website.
Edit: Found out on their eBay shop that they don't offer pickups.

Lie to them and say your accross the road.
Email them and see what they say

  • fyi the 16gb version is a little slower but around the $30 mark

great if you dont need a flash drive so big

The speed on these are pretty good. I get around 20-22mb p/s write speed…much better then the crappy 32gb sandisk cruzer (5 mb p/s!!)

    • Yep, just got it in the mail. Pretty good usb drives.
