It seems a bit strange that voting on your own comment is not allowed (and enforced by code), but voting on your own post is.
I'm just wondering if this is intentional or just not worried about since the voting system isn't really impacted.

what kuples said.
When you post a deal, you're voting on that deal - well its an automatic pos vote, you wouldnt post a crap deal!
comments give the user rep or help towards removing a negative vote.
if you've got any questions, please let us know :) hopefully we can clear them up
All good, just wondered about the logic behind it. I guess to me, the fact that you posted it means you think its a good deal, so the ability to put a vote on it is quite redundant, but I'm probably just being overly correct.
Love your work however.

It is true in some sense. However there are also store rep postings — they don't get the automated +1 votes. This distinction makes the automated votes by normal users less than redundant.
Ah I see. Very good answer :)
thanks for clearing that up scotty :)
I am pretty sure this is by design.
When you are voting on a post (as in the opening post), you are voting for the deal, not the post.
This means by voting on your own deal, you are showing that you believe it is a good deal (which to a degree you are showing by posting it, but it doesn't reflect in the post count).
Of course I may have totally misunderstood what you were asking, in which case, ignore this.
