Hello,
A truck hit my wing mirror breaking the glass.
Replacement from VW is $175 - just wondering if anyone has an alternative option for supply of these mirrors.
Am in Sydney.

That is pretty normal price if the mirror has heating and remote control.
If it’s just the truely just the mirror order a generic from EBay. I had the same thing happen to me - it was a heated mirror in my R - $19 delivered from Europe and worked a treat even when heating was needed. If it’s damaged the feed to the wires then your out on heating but you won’t know until the mirrors plug and fitted back in.

here is a link to VW golf right side mirrorsJust be careful ordering from OS. I ordered mirrors for my forester from the US. Got two from there cheaper than one locally. When they arrived and I installed them they were angled wrongly becuase they were designed for left hand drive. worked great from the passenger seat though. I had to pull apart the bases and switch components to get them to work for right hand drive.
No idea if VW have left/right hand drive specific mirrors though.
They do. From memory the eBay seller I used actually had this as an option for my model. Went something like RHD right or LHD right in the drop down box as was the option for the blue hue/tint.
IMO go check ebay first, if only the glass needed to replace then probably just 10 something dollars. And it is just clipped on as long as your plastic shell isn't too broken. (Did once for my family couple years ago)
