When Did KFC Stop Their Breakfast Menu?

Hey all,

I know the KFC Breakfast Menu was only available in a select number of stores (ie very few) but one of them happened to be right where I was.

Apparently they don't do breakfast any more. Does anyone know when, or why this was the case?

I know there's a few KFC affiliates on Ozbargain so thought I'd try my luck :)

  • If they have have stop doing it, does it really matter when they did?.

    • Well it kind of does does.
I want to know when and why it stopped because that will tell whether it's more of a fail or a promotion/trial.

You'd probably have more luck contacting them via head office/facebook. Even if there are some employees here, as you said, it was a limited store thing so would be low a burger flipper would know.

Who wants deep fried chicken for breakfast?

    • +1

Sigh… it's a bacon&egg roll, hash brown, donut sticks W/ maple syrup and coffee.
Combine it with the survey to get another hash brown and a Pepsi/MTN dew for later.

      No chicken..

      • no i swap it for more donuts stick and a better coffee or bottle of water

      • No chicken

So…. just like the rest of their menu.

One man's breakfast is another man's bekfast.. Sorry yes I just assumed your gender.. not.. Sorry not sorry… full retard mode activated..

  • Companies stop doing things when they aren’t profitable. KFC probably couldn’t convince customers it was a good destination for breakfast, and they didn’t want to invest in marketing and equipment on the scale required to compete with McCafe.

  • Just went to kfc and got the $5 brekky box

    • Where abouts did you go? What store?

      • VIC southbound eastlink KFC

        • Oh maybe it's just my store that's getting bumped off the list :/
          (Macquarie NSW)

  • @pennypincher98 Buying breakfast at KFC and being a penny-pincher are completely independent lifestyles.

    • To be fair KFC $5 brekky box is the best value breakfast (when I'm out) that I could find.
Hungry Jack's isn't bad value either, it just never seems to satisfy me though.

Mate, Adli brand weetbix, milk, honey, you'll get a month's worth of brekkies for the cost of 2 or 3!

      • honey? how much is adli selling honey for? might have to settle with maple flavored syrup instead.

        • Maybe 4-5 bucks for the Aussie stuff in a squeezy bottle? Three for a box of weetbix, milk is probably the most expensive part of it but even at $15 budget you've still got enough left for 6L or so :)

(also it's infinitely healthier than kfer…)

        • @picklewizard: lol I might just point out that I have something to eat before I leave or when I leave (Weet Bix + Milk if I have time, Up&Go if I don't) but when I get down two hours later I am hungry again but don't exactly feel like a burger because it's still early.
Sometimes a yoghurt will suffice, other times not. Btw the regular (medium) $2 coffee they had was actually alright value and quite drinkable.

        • @pennypincher98: Fruit bro! Or a sanga. Ham/cheese/pickle is my go-to!

        • @picklewizard: sandwiches are lunch (1 sandwich is bordering on a snack). Fruit is a snack.
Lol doesn't sound like you eat much?

    KFC for breakfast hahaha

given that most people wouldn't even consider kfc for breakfast. But have you tried the 5$ brekky box yet?

      • I have a gourmet cafe, with subsidised prices at my work. I prefer smashed avo and a proper latte haha.

my last job food was provided free, hospitality industry. So my breakfast would consider of bagel with cream cheese with smoked salmon and a side of eggs with Benedict sauce.

But then again this is OZbargins not OzDinning.

  • People go to KFC for their chicken. Not bacon and egg. No surprise there if it didn't sell.

How ozbargains can buy breakfast I don't know.

weetbix and milk for me every morning. Have done so for the last 20 years of my life! (Apart from the odd day here and there)

    • just think of the time when u were a cool, free spirit, spontaneous guy that everybody loved to be around 21 years ago. what happened to that guy? anytime you wana talk about it, we're all here for you…

    • Mate the whole premise of OzBargain is to buy shit because it's cheap even though you don't need it.
