Interested in Renting My Poptop Campervan While Living Overseas

I own a 2002 Kia Pregio converted into a pop top camper van. It is in very good condition for it's age and has low km. It has been at my parents house for the past 8 months getting very little use.

Now I am considering renting it out. It is on the Gold Coast Hinterland.
What would be the best strategy to approach this? Especially in regards to advertising and insurance? Are there car sharing websites that allow camper vans? What are the pros and cons? After everything is taken into account is it worth it?

  • Don't know much about these guys, but I've seen their cars around. Would they be what you're after?

  • Speaking as a germaphobe (I am) that's a very bad idea…

Nothing a little disinfectant can't fix.

    • We aren’t all germaphobes.

I initially read that as Germanphobe.

      • Lol :).

      • Yes those backpackers constantly renting our camper vans

  • your probably not going to get much for it.. 2002 model XYZ camper,

there not going to be too many renters of the vehicle long term, the numbers dont stack up for you.

  • If you could find someone to maintain it, you could list it as an airbnb location. There are a number of cans parked in amazing locations and rented out on a nightly basis. Would require someone present to keep it clean and hand out the keys though.

  • You'd have to give it to an actual rental shop, not a camplify or car next door, because those places usually require you to do the exchange of keys and cleaning etc.
