  • Love how u can control these with google home, u can delete the yi app after setup. I was able to teach and play colours with my toddler every day

It's good to finally see that Google Home has a use other than a paper weight

      • Because listening to music is overrated?

        • +1

Bluetooth speakers do their job than going by a playlist randomly generated by a paper weight.

        • +1

@jared444: ??? You don't have to play a 'randomly generated playlist'…unless you don't pay for a Google Play Music or Spotify…I use it for music all the time and i tell it exactly what to play. Are you speaking from experience? or just trying to be a sheep.

        • -1

          @andrgram:

Your assumptions aren't very useful. Yes I do have one

        • @jared444: so the comment you made above is only true for you. Just like any other Bluetooth speaker GH can play any music you want it to play and you can also ask it to do so instead of manually going through playlists to play a song on just Bluetooth speakers.

        • @Jimmy007:

And you can also group it to other google homes or chromecast audios to get a good multiroom playback.

  • I can't seem to find the free shipping option?

    • Same here. Cheapest shipping is US $3.52

      • +1

I checked out with Paypal and on the last step it gave me a free shipping option.

        • Tried that as well. No luck.

same issue. must be because I had another item I removed.
When I clicked continue it processed my order. Very annoying with US$7 shipping. Cancelled immediately.

    • Use checkout, not paypal at the first screen. Then you'll get the full range of shipping options and only select Paypal at the very end, once all of the other details are correct and locked in.

Love my Yeelights (especially when combined with Google Home) - no more can the missus make me leave the recliner to do her "turn the light on/off" bidding!

Can you provide a link to where we can get these cheaper now?

Op seems to have provided the cheapest price currently available.

      • -8

Yes, Lifx come at a better price at dollar per lumens and quality of bulb. I'd buy them at 15, but 20 there are better bulbs out there when you're considering lumens and quality. Not to mention the watts you save instead of having 4 bulbs to match 1 Lifx in lumens. Cheapest doesn't equal best option or best bargain if there are better alternatives.

        • +8

This is a deal for Xiaomi RGB bulbs, your negative vote is for Xiaomi RGB bulbs.

Can you provide a link to a cheaper deal for Xiaomi RGB Bulbs?

        • -5

          @xev:

So by your logic, if a brand releases a computer with the same specs as a generic tower but always price it at 6K and reduce it by 1K that's worthy of a deal. Screw logic…

        • -5

          @xev:

Please provide me a justification that cheapest = deal

        • +9

@jared444: By your logic if someone comes up with a deal for a Ferrari it's ok to downvote it because you can by an old commodore for $500.00

This is s deal for Xiaomi bulbs.

@xev: everybody just chill…@Jared444 is kind of slow and probably been bullied all this life so his release is acting like a jerk on OzB because there are no consequences which allows him to puff his chest on here and feel big for a bit.

        • @Zondor:

          Drink more water.

    • You're not wrong, but that isn't a valid reason for a neg.

    • Presumably because they're low in stock. The updated version is already on gearbest and aliexpress, but it's double the price at the moment. Once the new version hits online, one would assume there will be more incentive to get rid of old stock. Pure speculation, but that's my 2 cents.

      • -2

That's a possibility, the new one supposedly has better lumens. So if they do come at 850 lumens (I think that's the number), I'd see it as more justified price. But not these old bulbs.

  • This or the Hue Kits, I have the B22 type globes i think 2 little prongs sticking out. I have 1 Yeelights(multi color) and I find it quiet slow and very much app dependent.

    • I gave all my Yeelights to my brother once I got some Hues and haven't looked back. Interface/reliability is light years ahead (never had to reset a Hue bulb and re-pair) and you can get physical switches to control them (seems counter-productive, but having 4 buttons that can control the scene/strength is a lot easier than pulling out your phone, loading the app, waiting for it to connect and then controlling them.)

10/10 would choose Hue > Yeelight every day of the week.

      • Do you have the dimmer, do you need one for every light or it controls a set of lights. I dont need all my lights on with the dimmer switch. Also how good is the app. Is much quicker the Mi Home app or Yeelight app. I was just looking at the globes before I saw this here. Its a sign I need to buy a set of either these or Hues.

        • +1

Hue is significantly better and significantly more expensive.

I’ve 26 hue lights strewn across my house. Cost a small fortune but started down this avenue before Yeelights were a thing.

My only $$$ saving tip is to buy Hue starter kits from Amazon Uk when they’re on sale. You can sell any spare Bridges on eBay. Meant I bought most of my Hue lights for $30-$40 per light.

        • +1

          @mooney:

That's interesting, way to get cheaper bulbs. I seen a couple comment in other deal about buying it from Amazon UK but wasn't sure what it meant. Thanks for the clarification, thou I'm not sure if ever get around listing hue bridges on eBay.

Okay since they are always on right, how the power bill. Kind silly question but gotta ask. Every cent counts especially with power going up every year. Also how are they outdoor wise. Like undercover out of the rain but still in open outdoor. Also thank you to everyone who has given feedback.

        • @hotstuff: Their power consumption is negligible compared to a standard Led bulb. You could argue they could work out cheaper as you are much less likely to leave a light on in your place.

My outdoor ones are safely housed in a waterproof outdoor light fitting so cant really help except to say they work great in my setup.

        • I bought the dimmers because they are the cheapest and you can assign any function to the four buttons. It also clips out of its wall mount to use as a remote. The more expensive three button switch doesn't make sense besides aesthetics. I have my dimmers assigned to a room of lights each.

      • +2

You can get different switches for the Yeelights.

The magic cube is my favorite.

        • Do you have some links for switches, preferably at a bargain price? :)

        • @justdigi: Have a search on all the usual Chinese sites and ebay for Xiaomi Button, switch or cube.

The Cube seems a bit gimmicky but it has six different functions, great if you have multiple Yeelight or other Xiaomi smart devices.

My favorite function: turn left to dim lights, turn right to make lights brighter.
          (counts as 1 function)

Guests are always are always amazed by it.

  • Just checked. I got 3 for $38.37 AUD at 08/09/17. I had to buy the prongs to circular adapter.

  • Any idea if these bulbs come in B22 type with 2 little pins on the sides? My search has not been fruitful

  • Gave mine away, got sick of the app. Other than that they're bright with nice colours and build quality is excellent.

Just wish Xiaomi were more Global.

  • Still waiting for yeelight to release second generation.

Seems like second gen is already out.

  • +3

Gone are the days of the $10-$12 RGB Yeelights! :(
Lucky I stocked up on the previous deals!

    • Yeah, too bad. I love the 4 I installed throughout the house. Gave away the other 3 but now need more and can't justify it at these prices when I bought previously for $12 each!

  • Will they work with Amazon Echo Plus?

    • +2

      Yes, it will work.
You just need to setup the Yeelight Alexa Skill app on your echo and it will detect the bulb :)

Works very nice with both my 1st gen echo and new echo dot which is inside my car lol

beware of insane delivery times and / or lost shipments. i'm still waiting for my memory card which was purchased via this deal back in january. tried to reach out customer care few times but no luck with the shipment. i was advised to wait for 60 days but now it has been more than 90 days with no signs at all.
i have purchased few items from them in the past and the delivery time has always between 30-60 working days but will probably never buy anything from them after this experience or at least try to select insurance / tracking option for delivery.

    • +1

Contact user miniinthebox , they are the rep for LightInTheBox on OzBargain.

      • thanks. will give it a go.

        • checked the concerned tracking number with local post office. they claim that the parcel has been delivered back in Feb itself. sigh. not sure where it got lost. will be good to use tracked shipment going forward.

  • +1

Would anyone be able to tell me if you could set and forget certain behaviours such as cool white colours during the day and warmer at night? Basically f.lux for light bulbs.

    • +1

Have just had a quick look at the Yeelight app, it looks like you can.

  • Oops, nearly bought this but I wanted Zigbee not WiFi.

  • Why don't there seem to be many Zigbee outlets / sockets (and deals on them)? That would seem to me to be a better approach than dedicated light bulb, e.g. I could use it to control a regular lamp, heater, TV, or other device.

  • couldn't get free shipping option (when using Paypal)

Clicked continue to see if there is a next option, and it finalised the order with SEVEN US dollars shipping - kills the deal. asked for cancel and refund.

    how annoying.

    • I couldn't either if I tried to buy more than one at a time. It must exceed some cost threshold where tracking is mandatory. Try buying one at a time.

    • Free shipping is only for single (1) items on this deal from what I can tell. Any multiples and you are paying for shipping.

Can place 2 orders at this price.

  • +2

New Yees available at GB for AUD$29.25 - too expensive for a new post, but there if anyone is tempted to buy the newer ones.

    GB Coupon: NEWYEE27

It will say it doesn't exist, but it will still work. Can order multiples at once.

  • +2

Hmm is it worth being stuck on LITB's email marketing list for another 6 weeks with no means of escape to save a few dollars?

  • Anyone knows how many watt or lumen it is?
    thanks

    • Follow the link. It's in the description

  • any deals on the white bulbs pls

    • new white yeelights (RGB) or white-only color leds?

      • Just after the white versions, not the RGB ones.

        • I may have posted the last deal for the old white ones a few days ago as they have been discontinued.

The new ones are still, comparatively, expensive as they have only just been released, hopefully we will see some good deals soon enough

          White: https://www.gearbest.com/led-light-bulbs/pp_1664061.html
          RGB: https://www.gearbest.com/smart-lighting/pp_1664464.html

Also: if interested look around the normal Chinese sites and ebay for the Xiaomi Philips bulb, you can quite often find them cheap. You can't control them with the yeelight app, but you can use the Xiaomi home app for them, handy so you can use the switches and sensors with them.

        • @xev: Yeah I want to control them with Alexa, so need them to work with the app

  • Are their any of these that are bayonet fittings? I know you can use adapters but I've heard they aren't safe.
