Onitsuka Tiger Ultimate 81 Shoes Warranty

Did anyone here buy a pair of ASICS Onitsuka Tiger Ultimate 81 from the deal that was posted here?

Well I bought a pair from Platypus and after 2 months of mostly weekend wear, I've found the colour has faded dramatically!

Note: I don't wear these to work, mostly to the shops and friends houses, it was fading but really showed when it got wet in the rain (I was walking to my car in a car park)

So I contacted Platypus and this was thier response:

Thanks for sending through the images for us to assess.
Based on the images provided we won’t be able to provide a credit/replacement pair for these.

The images indicate that a manufacturing fault is not evident in the workmanship or materials used in this instance.
We are sympathetic to the fact that they’ve had the footwear for a limited amount of time, however the images indicate that it’s fair wear and tear that has caused the problem, and as such, a replacement or credit claim cannot be issued.

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us."

I'd like to hear what you guys think?

    Propably cause they are fake. Contact your credit card company, advise them you received fake shoes, as real ones wouldnt fade in that manner, then do a charge back. I believe you get 2-3 months to do a chargeback.

    That is not normal at all. I would take it into the store and plead your case, making reference to the Australian consumer guarantee. You would not expect the colour to fade like that after just two months. Say it is a major fault and you want a refund.

    I do feel the shoe has some character now to be honest. Just keep your foam part of your soles and stripes really white and clean then this "worn out" look will appear intentional.

      I agree they look OK, but if this is what they look like after 2 months, it's probably gonna be a pale yellow in 6 months
