  • I have no idea what this is for…Can you link some camera that'll work with this OP?

    • +1

Yeah it can connect to various IP cameras, so you can view/record/control them all in one place. Any IP Cam.eith unencrypted RTSP stream it can view. Or if you can reflash your IP camera to have unencrypted RTSP stream, it'll work (e.g. some Xiaomi cams like Ants/Yi)

There's a free version with ads & some limitations if you want to look at what it can do.

Thanks op I've been waiting for this.

Great app. Must have for anyone with ip cams at home.

  • Hi, what would be the advantage of this over the Mi Home App (other than language problems). I have a single xiaofang camera and am looking to get a couple more.
    Thanks

    • +3

With Mi Home, all your data is sent over to China hence the reason for Fanghacks. I got two of these cameras and applied the hack for both.

      • +1

China does everything what 'Merica does.:/
I guess they are not interested in your personal affears, but you can ask them where you misplaced something.

        • Is the reply above a Google Translation from another language?

      Nope, still active…

  • Thanks, was looking for an alternative to Mi Home. Gonna see how well this works.

    • It won’t work if you haven’t applied fanghack.

      • +3

How do you apply fang hack?

        • @chibot: I have tried this in the past but for the life of me can not get it working. Are there any other/different instructions?

I could be a numpty, but I followed step for step and got nothing.

        • @Matmubuggy: I could not get it to work as well. I hope there is more simpler instructions.

        • +3

@Matmubuggy: Are you stuck on the downgrading firmware step? I found that the firmware downgrade only worked on a 4gb microsd card. Any bigger and it was a no go for me, the hacks themselves can be applied using any card.

        • @No: Where does it say to downgrade the firmware?

I have 32gb cards….so this might be the issue.

Actually, partitioning the cards also upset the cards a little bit, strangely. I don't know what went wrong there. O_o

        • @Matmubuggy: In the instructions linked above it doesn't say anything about the firmware but in my experience the hacks will not work on anything newer than 3.0.3.56.

Grabbed it, have a fanghacked camera and $32 of google play credit from the surveys so why not!

    • surveys?

      • +1

Google Opinion Rewards. It's an app that rewards you with credit for answering questions.

I'm at $33 worth of credit myself.

  • anyone knows if the Netgear Arlo will work with these? Im having massive problem with the geofencing feature since I switched from ios to android

  • Thanks OP, got a Xiaomi cam from a while back, time to hack & use this app :)

  • Note that Fanghacks is still not 100% stable. Different hardware versions of the Xiaofang may operate differently. I have 3 cameras hooked up and none are stable despite trying all manner of things. Two worked fine with the Xiaomi app but the third was region blocked and hence my reason for installing Fanghacks.

    • I implemented a few fixes from the github to get mine stable, there's one that detects if the RTSP server crashes and reboots it.

  • While it might not have the functionality of this app, kodi with the surveillance room plug in works pretty well for a hacked xiaofang IP cam at least. $0

  • i got my camera working with this app but cant figure out how to conttrol (move) the camera?

    • nevermind. found it. looks like a great app. Thanks

  • If you buy this and for some reason can’t get it to work on a Dafang camera, can you revert to Mi Home?

  • Ive been using this for a while with my old nexus 7 but it really struggles and drops a lot of frames because of the shit processor

Great app but just need something a bit more powerful
