I can see it's a good combo to sleep in camper van + shower/pee-poo/workout in gym.
But paying 42k for a tiny house without own land, not so wise.

Ive always wondered how sustainable these lifestyles are? You always hear the story of somebody that has made the move BUT rarely somebody going over a year. Alot of these people are the, "young, professional, too much time to think, I need to find my place in this world" type of people.
I see plenty of people living in their vans around my area.
they are called "homeless"
House prices in Sydney are crazy and the thought of paying off a mortgage for 30+ years is enough to make you sick. If you are single (or even a couple without kids) and happy to live in a small space then you can make it work, the commuting to work would be a bit difficult though. Most people that live this sort of lifestyle make their money online, so they are never tied to one place. It all just depends on what you want from life, it appeals to some and not to others.
One still needs access to a vacant lot to build the granny flat. The blue mountains is outside of Sydney and a fair drive if one works in the eastern burbs. Blacktown or Parramatta would be an ok commute.
