So I've finished my contract with Lumo and right now I'm getting charged at some crazy high rate for Electricity - 33c inc gst peak and around 16c inc gst off peak.I'm in SE Vic, serviced by United Energy, with premium solar feed in.
Upon Ozbargain's recommendation I looked at Tango energy. Tango told me they can't take me onboard with my current Network Tariff Code (FTOD). I need to Switch to LVS2R to join them.
I speak to Lumo, and after a pain couple of hours of dealing with their retention team, then customer service team, I was told I couldn't change my Network Tariff Code without losing my solar system (not just premium feed in - the actual whole system).
I contacted United Energy who said the same thing. Pretty much I cannot change my tariff code without disrupting my solar system.
The plan I want to join is this one:

(scroll down to Smile Power Flexi (no exit fee) GD Demand)
Am I supposed to just accept my fate or is there something I can actually do about this situation? Has anyone been able to change their network tariff code or is it a long and painful process?
Sorry linked wrong plan - this is the one I want to join:

I looked on the Vic Energy website and it says customers with Premium feed in tariffs are eligible to change retailers…but if I'm limited by the network tariff set by the distributor it sounds like it'll be difficult to find another retailer that uses a matching tariff code?
I do not understand why the concern over the tariff codes. Must be a Victoria thing. I know that for solar feed in, the prices have changed a lot recently. But your concern is more about the amount they will charge/pay not the specific tariff. I also do not see how your solar would be totally off the table. All electricity companies have solar rates for feed in, the most recent ones are between 9 and 12 cents in my area. Premium Tariffing is no longer a consideration so if you change companies after having that it does go away. Call around find the cheapest charge for KWs, usages charges and the lowest for buying KW's and if you want peek and off peak specify that too.
I would recommend checking https://www.powershop.com.au/ if you like managing your energy daily or weekly (if you have a smart meter) or monthly as they allow you to look at it online and see graphical representations and data but to get their best rates you have to pay ahead!
I googled the tariff codes you mentioned and found quite a few Electricity providers PDF's with their rates. https://www.google.com.au/search?num=30&client=opera&ei=fw_C…
