Best Bang for Bucks Monitor

My fantastic Dell UltraSharp 2408 has died in a recent power outage and I'm looking for a new monitor.

My wish list-
- up to c$700
- 24" to 27"
- I don't play games so picture quality is more important than speed therefore I'm thinking an IPS panel

Any suggestions?

  • Check whether your broken monitor is covered under your contents insurance.

    • Thanks. I bought the monitor for $720 9 years ago and my contents insurance has a $500 excess.

But first I'm going to see if the electricity supplier will cover it.

  • +1

I got this one a couple of months ago, beautiful picture quality and great viewable angles.

    • That looks good and I like the price too.

  • i recently acquired an AOC monitor. (only 22" -part of a dual monitor setup) .

it is the best monitor I've ever used.

whilst I got it for free, AOC is not an expensive brand.

    • Do you have the model number?

What makes it the best monitor for you?

        I2269VWM

What makes it the best monitor for you?

        IPS panel
        resolution
slim bezel (great for dual monitors)

It's on my home setup. I telecommute twice a week and appreciate the extra room and image crispness of the monitor. (way better than what my office set up offers)

a quick look on ebay shows a 24" for $149 delivered and 27" for $199 delivered (not including any ebay discount codes)

  • Viewsonic VA2719-2k

    $299 for 1440p, IPS and 27inch

    • That looks really good too. Do you have one?

      • No, I have a gaming monitor. Recommended it to a friend for a bang-for-buck option and he seems happy with it.

  • At $200 the 23.6" ViewSonic VX2476 looks good.
