Hi folks,
Looking for a cheap, good 22 inch LED (preferable) or LCD TV at the moment. It seems the cheapest/best I can find is a hull HD LED Sanyo at Big W for $298 (which Dick Smith has for $399).
Anyone know of a better deal?

true, but that adds cables, weight, space, and stuffing around. One of the main reasons I want a HD LCD/LED is because I tried a set top box earlier in the year and HATED it. Couldn't even plug my DVD or VCR in, and at the same time the STB was making incredibly annoying high-pitched noises.
Maybe you could try a different STB…they're not all shite dude! ;)
I've got a similar setup to the one scrimshaw describes with an old 22" LCD from work, Strong STB, Astone AP-300 & Samsung upscaling HDMI DVD recorder! However, I have Logitech Z-5 speakers (@ $25 late-nite runout…thanks Kmart). It's my fave retreat when the missus is cranky with me…funny, it gets used a bit…I must be doing something wrong! :p
Keep an eye on ebay for the Samsung and LG 22" LCD's that people have been given as bonuses

That link might be fail idk, it's a new LG 22" for $200
LG 23" TV/Monitor is available at OfficeWorks (front of catalogue and prominent in-store display) for $279 and I'd expect that the redemption Samsung free bonus TVs will sell secondhand for around $200ish.
For convenience and ease of return/warrranty/change of mind, I'd pick the OfficeWorks one over an online vendor.
Has anyone bought that LG from OW?

Thanks for the info bizi. Unfortunately (and I should have specified), I live in Perth and we don't have Bing Lee here.
Maybe a Good Guys (if you have them) can do a deal to beat BigW.
Funny that Woolworths' BigW outlet has such a different price to its Dick Smith outlet!
I've been looking around for a 22" TV too recently … Good Guys & Harvey Norman had their boxing day sale cheapies, but the best I found was this one - http://www.kogan.com.au/shop/kogan-led-22-fhd-led-tv-pvr-hd-…
22" LED (not LCD) FULL HD 1080P with USB recording function - $279 + delivery (cost me $301.XX in total), - specs wise it shit all over the cheaper models from Good Guys and Harvey Norman. Should get it in the next day to too… looking forward to seeing if its any good.
You could always buy a regular 22 inch HDMI monitor for $180 and then just hook it up to a $40 set top box. And add an extra pair of speakers (Logitech LS11) for an extra $15 bucks.
Total cost: $220 + $15 if you want speakers.
