I've never used an Optus prepaid SIM, but have bought others in store before. Generic barcode is scanned (not the unique one for the SIM - often they actually scan the barcode on a generic flier, not the SIM pack) and then activation is done at home.
But my local Woolworths has left all their $50 Optus prepaid starter packs outside the store, closed for Good Friday.
I'm assuming Optus needs activation at the register, or something, for them to work, and not that the store made a boo-boo?
Take one and report back?
Does the kit say something like no value until scanned?
