The mother-in-law (read: doesn't have to be FULL HD) is after a 42" HD TV and I was wondering whether there were any good prices post Xmas?
I see HN have the Samsung ps42c451b2d 42" HD plasma for $596. I know it's not full HD but it does have DivX ability which is cool and price seems good.
Any thoughts on this or any other deals?
P.s. She didn't specifically ask for a brand name tv, that is just me being a snob - perhaps there is a no-brand which is better value/picture quality?

LCD is fine. I just always thought plasma was cheaper.

Forget the no name plasma's / lcd's and go with the Samsung you have listed.
Its a great TV and a great buy.
Does it have to be plasma? Not trying to resume any LCD vs. plasma debates, but for many people a TV is a TV, and the layman sees little functional difference between the technologies!
There's some very nice LCD deals out there worth considering too ATM, just FYI! :)
