Probably something to do with this and also be aware of. There's talk these cannot be fixed, even with firmware updates to the CPU

AMD have come out and said they've figured out fixes already. Besides, if someone already has admin access to your cpu, you have bigger things to be worried about.
Stop fearmongering. It's a rubbish report. If someone has full admin privileges, they can do whatever they want even without those exploits. The only way to stop those will also prevent any legitimate users from doing anything on the computer, so you have a brick. Unhackable brick.
This is a good CPU but considering the 2600 is just about to come out……
Still it's a good start ,that CPU is great, for the money at this price, but the new price for the 2600 on launch will be not ideal.
I wish AMD would just go hardcore and list it dead cheap, they'd clean up in mid tier sales.
New CPUs coming out doesn't reduce the performance of a current CPU. The R5 1600 is still a great buy, especially for less than 200 bucks, and AM4 is still a platform that guarantees some level of future upgrades.
This is such a great price for an incredible CPU. Such a cheap platform too. My R 5 1600 overclocks to 3.9ghz stable with no problems.
