I know the citibank plus account is the favourite, but what does that have over the HSBC global banking account for example?

Citi - Debit Card
28 Degrees - Credit Card.I found it easier just to pay for everything up front on credit where I could, especially as there was no transaction fees.
If you need cash however, doesn't hurt to have the Citi Card too. It's free to obtain both, so why not eh?
Not so much these days as they changed the rules for the 28 degrees one, charging for ATM withdrawals.
Have used Citibank one all over the world no prob.
Another credit card is the Bankwest Platinum. Free card with no international transaction fees and free travel insurance.
Must make 5 txns per month now, not worth the hassle when 28 Degreees and Citibank have no such requirement
I could be wrong but I thought 28 degrees and citibank do not provide rebates for operator ATM fees? (ie you still get charged a fee from the owner of the overseas ATM).
The 5 transactions do not bother me because I have automated it.
ING or citi bank are good for debit
credit card i used to have a 28 degrees card which was good too but had to get rid of it because i needed to improve my borrowing power for my last loan.
I have a bankwest credit card in which if you spend over a certain amount pre-trip you can free travel insurance so i always book a few things with it
28 Degrees by Latitude Finance is the number one OzBargain recommendation for overseas purchases.
Citibank Plus Account is good for cash withdrawls.
HSBC alternative looks to be fairly similar.
Uses the Visa set currency rates and has no fees, unless you incur interest charges.
