Boxing Day Date? 26th or 27th?

so apparently boxing day this year is actually 27th?

so are the boxing day sales on the 26th or the 27th. i was thinking of going shopping in sydney city tomorrow and dont want it to be a waste.. travelling 1hr only to find all the shops closed.

and i haven't seen many ads about stores with sales…? eg a myer flyer.. or anything like that?

    Fairly sure it's just a public holiday on Monday (called 'Boxing Day') as the real Boxing Day has fallen on a Sunday. I think the theory is that people have Sunday's off so they'd be annoyed 'wasting' a public holiday on that day.
