It was not sealed. It was open case with disc behind the counter
Trust me you are not the only one who hates it. I don't understand why they do it 🤔
Me too, rare to get games sealed.
When I used to work for Target, we used to have them sealed for the first day of release, since it would be more work to gut them and a lot of people would just come up to the counter to ask for the game anyway so didn't really have to worry about not having all of the empty cases on the shelf.
If we left the games sealed they would have to be within those plastic box things but you would often walk down an aisle in another department and find a bunch of them broken open with the contents stolen. These were also in pretty short supply because using them for DVDs and Blu-Rays would take priority. They also take up more space on the shelves than the empty cases alone, which made it impossible to put all the stock out especially when you're following a compulsory plannogram which leaves little room for games.
It really does suck that we have to take them out of the cases and I am definitely guilty of just not unsealing one of the games if I was planning on buying it when my shift ended but whenever I worked I always made sure to put the disk in the case in front of the customer and only holding the disk around the rim as I would do with my own games. Unfortunately with the way we stored them in our particular store, it was common to get scratched discs anyway so I would usually try and find a better disc or offer a discount if it was pretty bad and was the last copy.
Why does it matter? I don't get the difference
removes any possible damage to the case short of crushing it or stick a knife through it. As a collector this is something i prefer myself.
Because when you buy something, you expect yourself to be the first to open the game case. Just with any items you purchase from the store (with the exception of food), the product is sealed or untouched by the retail and only in manufacturing.
So when you get the game, it is sad to see them grab your game from a bunch of stuff, get their finger prints all over your CD, cartridges. Some retailers dont handle cartridges properly and touch the connection points or miss with the cd when they are placing it into the case and you see them slide it in place.
To everyone looking for sealed games, ozgameshop delivers it sealed in plastic but it does mean that you have to wait a few days for normal delivery.
Woolies/Coles - cereal box - opened - but the plastic containing the cereal inside is still wrapped
Would you still buy it?In case if I decide to sell it or gift it unsealed copy losses it's value even if I say to the buyer that it is brand new they usually do not trust that easily and try to offer low price. Trust me it happened to me before.
Big w has a price matching policy so if target is out, just get it from them
So does EB Games
OP said it wasn't advertised as $19, just scanned at $19. They'll normally only match an advertised price, won't they?
It looks like a stupid game.
yeah, you have to guide a large mammalian creature around and make him press buttons and switches… Hmm sounds kind of familiar…
Went to Target today, scanning at $39
Did they have sealed copies? I hate it when they open the cases.
