[Solved] Cashrewards Browser Extension Won't Activate on Chrome?!

Hi all, for some reason, I can't seem to activate reward with online shopping at woolies from Cashreward on chrome. The chrome extension icon just won't turn green, and pop out keep asking me to click "activate now". Any why? Someone from CR could explain that?

P/S Looks like the same with all other websites too like Ebay & ASOS? My chrome or PC then? Never had this problem before though

  • Mine'e been doing that for the last week or so as well. I believe it does still activate though?

  • This issue is still happening for me on Chrome.

    I'm logged onto the site, and go shopping from there - doesn't register that cashrewards is working.

    If I use the Chrome extension it looks like it is activating and then flashes up asking me to activate it again. Nothing tracked for the past month or so.

    Any suggestions?

    • Hi DrC. I've tried everything to replicate the issue but works fine for me. Can I please get you to confirm you're using v1.9.4 and if so, please uninstall it, clear your browser cache & cookies, then re-install. Please let me know how you go.

    • Same here. Only happening on my PC and not my Macs at the moment. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Even though it looks like my Notifier has updated today, same problem exists.

      • Yes. v2.3.14 was released yesterday, with new look, new features, and improvements. If your notifier isn't activating on redirection, please clear your browser cache/cookies and you'll find it will fix the issue. Please report back. Thanks.

        • Nope, I am on Cashrewards Bootloop as far as activation goes. Current extension, deleted cache and cookies. Same problem.

          • @[Deactivated]: OK, please try one more thing. Log out of your Cashrewards account. Close Chrome. Open Chrome. Log into your Cashrewards account. Try the Notifier/Extension.

            • @tightarse: Still same outcome. Thanks for offering suggestions though. Works on my Mac (which is at home) so saves me money by discouraging me from spending until I get home.

              • @[Deactivated]: Not a problem. I want to get to the bottom of this, so I'll screenshot this conversation and ask the dev team for more suggestions. Also, please note that the Mac (Safari) update is still with Apple. They're notoriously slow at pushing out updates. Also, please ensure you turn off Cross-Site Tracking if using Safari on any Apple device. Will keep you posted.

                  I had this setting activated in Chrome:

                  Block third-party cookies
                  Prevent third-party websites from saving and reading cookie data

                  This was not a problem until this week. I added cashrewards.com.au to "allowed sites" … did nothing.
                  I turned off this privacy measure and it now works. I wish it could still block third party cookies as long as I allow cashrewards though.

                  If you are having "Cashrewards Bootloop", please look at your treatment of "Third Party Cookies". It would be great to have a clever way of retaining this level of privacy though.

                      It doesn't work on Mac, iPhone and iPad now with the newest software. After clicking activate button, the website refreshed. But it still shows activate, not activated.

  • Happens to me in Chrome when I've had a browser opened for ages.. I have to close and reload Chrome and it works again.. bit of a bummer as all my tabs close as well..
