Australian stock of the newer 3B+ for $58 shipped from RS Online, with a free case: https://au.rs-online.com/mobile/p/processor-microcontroller-….
Personally I would pay an extra $15 for the spec bump, case and local stock.
What's the difference between Aus and Chinese versions?
nothing, I own both (UK and china version), they are identical physically including quality, just they also manufactured in china due to demand.
for the B+, yep has heat spreader, etc but power consumption is also up significantly with extra clock speed, so for battery powered apps the old model will still have appeal.
what do you mean battery powered apps? e.g. portable gaming on a battery power supply?
Technically the case isn't free. Australian stock of the 3B+ without the casing is $42 : https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/processor-microcontroller-dev…
EDIT: My bad that is the B+.. NOT the 3B+
This: https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/processor-microcontroller-dev…
$55 shipped.
Yeah technically not free but it's only a couple of dollars more than the version without a case.
By free I really meant included :)
What should I do with one of these?
Why does this get asked every single time it gets posted?
It's a cheap, mini computer. You do whatever you want with it. That's the beauty of it.
So you're saying I shouldn't just leave it boxed and sealed in the corner with the rest of my ozbargain purchases?
that's what my Raspberry Pi B and Raspberry Pi 2 are doing!

Ummm doesn't the new 3B model feature an integrated metal heat spreader on the CPU? The photos on the website show a standard CPU… It doesn't look right.
EDIT - sorry, I'm thinking of the 3B+, I got them confused :) I'm still rocking an old 2B :)
