The salted caramel is so good…

    • same, this is my fave too :)

  • Anyone know which is the best flavour?

    • Macadamia Nut brittle but I can't seem to find it in Coles (or Woolies) anywhere in Brisbane or Gold Coast. I did however find it in 7-Eleven.

It was available before in Woolies but seems no more can anyone confirm. Salted Caramel is next favourite but want to try Cookies and Cream and seems I will be this week :)

Of course thats just MHO. I prefer vanilla or creamy based ice creams rather than chocolate based but the chocolate is quite good if you are into that. Caramel biscuit is also good

      • Does the Nut Brittle have hard pieces in the ice cream? I'm curious to try it, but I don't like hard pieces.

Rum and raisin, green tea. I don't know if available with coles, but they are not available with woolies.

      • Wow haven't seen Rum and Raisin anywhere :(

      • +1

Only seems to be Salted Caramel, Cookies & Cream, Strawberries & Cream and Mango Raspberry available.

    • +2

Salted Caramel if you're a hardcore sweet tooth. Caramel Biscuit & Cream if you prefer moderate sweetness and the taste/texture of biscuit with icecream. Macadamia Nut Brittle if you like nuts (though it may no longer be avalable at Coles/Woolies as previously mentioned). Strawberries & Cream if you're into strawberries and/or milder flavours. Vanilla if you like vanilla. Chocolate if you like chocolate…

Caramel Biscuit & Cream is my favourite from those available at the supermarket.

    • Speculoos is best of the available flavours.

Green tea was amazing at the Haagen Dazs pop up store in Darling Harbour a couple years ago.

      • You can get Green Tea at 7-11s

    • I love the strawberry and cream

      • +1

So strange that none of other brands have strawberry flavour. I'm also a big fan of strawberry haagen dazs.

        • Sara Lee have Strawberry and cream. Not at Coles though. Woolies has it. Cheaper than Haagen Dasz and I actually like it.

        • @lostn: Absolutely love that!

        • connoisseur used to have a strawberry version, was very yum.

    • My fave is salted caramel…. it's da best!

    • Toothpaste flavour, AKA Mint flavour

    • Cooooffeeeee. So good, so simple.

Most of the others are too sweet in my opinion. If I can't get coffee I just go vanilla (is real vanilla bean not flavouring).

Caramel Biscuit & Cream is the best

    • Agreed. Bought a couple when they finally released this as a stand alone tub. The other flavours all taste generic

  • Salted caramel is the best ice cream i've ever had. Much better than Ben & Jerrys Caramel sutra, if you have a sweet tooth…

  • That'd be right, Flybuys bonus on these expired now :)

  • Who's the girl in the commercials???

  • Loved the cheesecake while I was in Europe. I cannot find it here.

  • Does it has any dead bodies part like gelatin etc.. ?

    • Of course it will have gelatin.

      • Check the ingredients. It doesn't.

  • Any cynical Ice cream eaters that can tell me truthfully that this isn't just some expensive "fake ice cream"?

Is this worth $7? I expect it to be some real stuff.

    • Well, the name is nonsense Northern European "exotica" to begin with.

It's meant to sound like the ice cream is from an indeterminate Scandinavian location, but the company was really started in Brooklyn, and the name is gibberish.

      It's basically cultural appropriation.

        Awesome. Thought so.

Ben and Jerry's was renowned, then I tried it and thought "wtf this is just cheap Ice cream with weird flavours" and a high price.

    • I've tried two flavors. My answer is no.

But I haven't tried the salted caramel that everyone seems to like. Salted caramel is personally not my cup of tea.

Maybe they are the Kathmandu of ice cream.

    • +1

Honestly I think it's worth it. You're buying a product that is essentially just cream and sugar, not the whole bunch of fillers and thickeners in the other big brands.

If it's relevant I'll mention that I don't like B&J (the flavours are too kiddy)

P.s. just checking now, the vanilla ingredients are: CREAM, SKIM MILK, CANE SUGAR, EGG YOLKS, VANILLA EXTRACT

vs connoisseur vanilla: Cream (36%), Skim Milk Concentrate, Water, Sugar, Glucose Syrup (Wheat), Dextrose Monohydrate, Flavour, Vegetable Origin Emulsifier [471 (Soy)], Vegetable Gum (410), Colours (160b).

    • What are you? Muslim?

      • -4

What are you? Do you allow to feed alcohol to kids? Are you Christian?

        • +5

Atheist. Well if it is low enough to not be stated on the product, I have no issues. Just like vanilla essence and lemon lime bitters for example.

        • +5

Why would I give kids my icecream, there isn't enough for myself already.

        • +2

          Do you use mouthwash?

        • +1

          @lostn:

FYI there are a lot alcohol free mouthwashes. Colgate Plax, Colgate Savacol, Colgate Total, Listerine Zero and there is an Oral-B Clinical alcohol free variety too. All commonly available from supermarket or Chemist Warehouse.

        • -1

@lostn: No. I use herbs. We should focus on ingredients as well. Just because it is cheap does not justify that I bring chemical for my family to feed.

If we demand then only company will obey.
          "You Are What You Eat."

I am surprised that how people are keen to minus my comments just because I am against alcohol in any products. I was shocked to hear that people are asking my religion because I am against alcohol.

    Overrated and overpriced.

      What do you prefer?

      • Given the username, probably Coyo.

  • +1

Salted Caramel is the go, I'd much rather pay the extra $2 and get one of these over the Conn's

  • Is this better than Weis? thank you!

  • +2

    Vanilla is my favourite flavour.

If you are a fan of vanilla ice cream, it's the type where you have the vanilla bean dots in the ice cream.

    • Thanks
I like the Weiss vanilla too… has real vanilla I think

    • Oh I'm not a fan of that. And I'm certainly not paying inflated prices just for vanilla ice cream.

  • -2

Does anyone know if there’s a dairy free flavour?

  • +2

I had no idea these things were $11.50 normally. IMO, they are totally not worth it, even at $7. They weren't bad by any means, but I prefer Sara Lee when they're $5 for a 1L tub. I am comparing Sara Lee's strawberry & cream (the only flavor I buy) with Haagen's Strawberry & cream. I can't even say that Haagen's tastes better irrespective of price.

The other one I tried was Peach and Mango which was alright, but not something I would buy again at their prices. Not even sure I would buy it again even if it was cheaper. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. Just had to try it.

  • They have pralines and cream flavour overseas. If you haven't tried it then you have wasted your life.

    • Do they ship to Oz? Because I can't afford a plane ticket just to try the ice cream.

  • Belgium chocolate is the best. It wins over Conniseur. However it's way too expensive

    • i think it's USA made?

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%A4agen-Dazs

Häagen-Dazs /ˌhɑːɡənˈdɑːs/ is an American ice cream brand, established by Reuben and Rose Mattus in the Bronx, New York, in 1961

      • Haagen-Dazs sold in Australia is made in the unfortunate sounding town of Arras, in northern France.
