Does multiplayer require Live? Is it worth buying if you don't have Live?

    • +1

Yes, XBOX Online requires a Gold/Live account. It's something like $11 P/m, but with the savings you get on games (and the free games twice monthly), it does really pay off in the end.

      • +1

You can get 12 months of Gold for like $60. Even less if you find a good sale/discount. It's way less than $11 per month.

        • Yes you definitely can

Though a bit short, I thought the campaign was phenomenal. Incredible level design.

      • Agreed. Didn't make up for the woeful MP game though. Loved the first game, totally hated this one but by the time I'd finished the SP campaign it was too late to get a refund.

        • How on earth can you love 1 but hate 2? It improved upon the first in almost every way.

  • Sweet thanks.

Is the community still active? I haven't decided between buying for Xbox One X and PC.

    • +2

Very inactive community on PC - can take up to 10 minutes to find a game during peak.

Wish it was the PC version :(

Was for 5.99USD on amazon not long ago

I wouldn't buy this just for multiplayer. The community has dwindled a fair bit.

The single player campaign is pretty awesome, though. Looks pretty sweet on the X as well.

  • If you're on Xbox Live trial. Can you purchase this at a discounted price? I wouldn't mind replaying it again for $7.49.

    • Yes (presuming you mean a 2,7 or 14-day trial).

      • but isn't it like after the trial period you cannot play any free/discounted games that you already downloaded during the trial period?

        • +2

For Xbox One games acquired from the Games with Gold promo, yes. But since Titanfall 2 was purchased, it'll work just like any other game (does not "expire").

        • @silverrat23: cheers

      • Yes , works fine. Redeemed a two days trail and bought the game. Anyone know why the game is 60gb to download? I thought the game was 20gb or so listed on the back of the game case. Can anyone can confirmed that's their DL is also that big?

Do not bother with this for multiplayer, great for a single player game and unfortunately the guys behind this game released it at such a bad time hence it got no love.

    • +1

The multiplayer is frigging great fun, not sure about other platforms but on PS4 its still easy to get a game. But yeah, EA releasing at the same time as battlefield was dumb as shit.

  • Thanks OP, could not resist at $7.50 for digital even though I already have the base game on disc.

    • Good idea - I've got it on disc - about half way through campaign from memory but sometimes opt for something else when I have a moment to rev up a title in place of heading to the other room to grab the disc. If I get the digi version as well will it use my save game from the disc play?

      • If I get the digi version as well will it use my save game from the disc play?

Yep, the save would still be compatible.

        • Great - will it automatically find it?

EDIT: I should add one of the best titles of 2016, and one of the best shooters… period.

        • +1

@fookos: Yes it should as saves are automatically backed-up to the cloud.

And I agree too. Multiplayer is a blast too!

        • @silverrat23: Thanks!

  • Wow that's a great price. Thanks OP.

    Free with EA access

Bought this earlier this year for $16 or so, bargain at that, but $7.50 its a no brainer. Multiplayer seems to be active enough too.

  • Super awesome single player campaign. Well worth the money!

  • Best deals for live gold 12m plan anyone? Mine's expired. Cheers

    • +1

The past 3 yrs ive got mine from gaming dragons. Depending on exchange rate its between $35-$50 for 12 months subscription

  • Wow thats good, $AU? ta ill try them… i think i was close to $56 with G2A.com

    • 34.4 pounds, , $A64, not that good

  • Cheers OP, I've been wanting to play this for a while. Can't say no for $7.50!

  • Are the add ons in this edition worthwhile? I've got the title on disc. Was about to pull the pin on the digi last night and then stopped and thought, regardless of how good this deal is, 'how lazy am I - buying again just so I don't have to load a disc!'

    • Are the add ons in this edition worthwhile?

All paid add-ons (like the ones here) are all cosmetic - skins for your character, titan, gun, etc.

If you value those, sure. Otherwise, no.
