Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone is using OpenWRT on their router?
I have an Asus RT-AC68U and I am wondering if I should bother installing this or perhaps something different?

I run dd-wrt and pfsenes on my servers.
I've got an RT-AC68u as well as the DSL-AC68u, and I didn't personally find any need to change firmware. In my uses cases, they are used for high-uptime business connections where I needed to ensure continuous internet access with auto 4G failover (cloud based POS) and not heavy technical features or high bandwith.
Having said that, I'm using a (freebie) Meraki MR18 AP, and the datalogging of staff and customer usage is really useful (e.g. verifying staff arrived on time by their mobile's wifi, if the till signon is unavailable). Also the Facebook Wifi login portal for free customer access. But I digress…
I'm usually one for betas and getting the most out of hardware, but in my case reliability was a much higher priority. And there were no new features on alternate firmware that the stock one didn't have (or that I needed).
Thank you. My thinking exactly.
can you explain how you can get Meraki MR18AP as a freebie?
I'm personally a fan of AdvancedTomato (good features, good interface) but I think Asuswrt-Merlin is probably the most popular for your router. I used it on my 66U and it's very good but it didn't have UI for all the features I use like DNSMasq (although all the features I use are supported, you need to use scripts for some of them).
