I have one of these. Pretty handy for a note taking machine at work/uni. The AMOLED screen means that you have to be careful with burn-in (so make you set your start bar auto-hide), but also means that battery life greatly benefits from making use of any black themes you can find for your browser, email client, programs, etc.

    • I have the 8GB/256 gold colour from the US. The screen is a thing of beauty. I have the background set to just black screen, and auto hide start bar.

A bonus is you can charge it with your power bank since it uses USB, so you can use it anywhere and charge without an AC outlet.

I do get occasional lags though, where it is unresponsive for a moment. That's likely due to the 6th gen Core M3 CPU. It's good enough for my needs, but adjust your expectations accordingly if you're on the fence.

I like that the keyboard cover also covers the back. The Surface Pro won't protect the back due to its kickstand. You do get any angle you want, but I find one angle is all I need.

There's no micro SD card slot in this, so make sure the 128GB is going to be adequate for you before you buy, because that's all you get, and you only have one USB slot (and it's a C).

  • Says win10home on the Catch site, not Pro as per your description.

  • How does this compare with sp4 m3

      It's a google away…

Basically, SP4 has a higher resolution (and subjectively better screen) and also slightly bigger display (12.3 inch vs 12 inch).
SP4 is more productivity laptop orientated I feel. Samsung's offering is a little bit more tablet-like.
As you know, the SP4 doesn't ship with a keyboard. I am 99% sure this does. The SP4 also has an SD card slot, unlike the TabPro S.

      • Yes it comes with a keyboard.

    • Cheaper, lighter, better battery life and a richer screen in most lighting conditions.

  • I've got one - gorgeous screen and great for travel. Enough computing power for most tasks and fast enough that it's not frustrating like an atom machine tends to be.

Note that you need to use a genuine breakout dongle and original charger if you want to have usb ports or hdmi out and charging at the same time.

In my experience generic dongles work for output but not charging and other chargers only charge without a dongle connected.

On balance I like mine but I'm not sure if I would be if I had paid the original RRP.

No MicroSD slot, backlit keyboard and 4G ram is small.

    • All valid points, especially when the M3 Surface Pro 4 had a MicroSD slot and a backlit keyboard.

At this price point though, still a great deal.

  • um.. damn thank you OP for preventing me from paying off my credit card this month. I've been dreaming about this laptop tablet for a year, and now here it is, and even extra $15 for express delivery won't spoil it for me!

  • by the way for all those drooling people who missed it white one is still in stock, but it's not on clearance, works out to be ~$700 delivered.
