    Thanks for posting OP.

    1.8kg rather than 18kg?
    EDIT: Ohh, my bad - 10x 1.8kg - I getcha.

    Good find!

  • Thanks for the heads up … i forgot i had a $20 promotion credit on amazon as well …. $15 what a deal ! :)

    • Wow, that will last you a few years I reckon. Nice one!

  • +3

How does this fare against OMO, Biozet Attack, and Aldi's laundry detergents? It's cheap, but I don't wanna buy almost 20kg's of useless washing powder.

    • +2

Omo and biozet are the best, fab is ok but when washing children's clothes biozets built in fabric softenter is a lifesaver

      • +1

Cheers, Chipwich. That's what I thought too, i.e., that this detergent is handy for people with kids and/or those who wash a lot of clothes very often. I live by myself, and wash my clothes once a week, so I have been a big fan of OMO and Biozet for many years, after trying different detergents over the years. I buy them when they're on sale.

    • +1

Biozet is my preferred but I do use other brands. I have no complaints for the Aldi branded ones.

    • +2

In the last Choice test the powder format of Omo, Coles Ultra, Trimat Advanced and the range of Dyanamo liquids were the best performing. Trimat Advanced liquid also did very well. The BioZ liquids were fair to poor. They did not test BioZ powders which have done OK in the past but have never been top performing. Fab was average.

      • I always buy the OMO & Biozet powder formats. I only bought liquid OMO once, and didn't find it as effective as the powder one.

        • Always use powder too. However Dynamo, for front loader users anyway, now almost match the best powders. Only one or two percent behind in the Choice test.

        • @bogstation: I have a top loader Fisher & Paykel washing machine. If their top loader one is also as good, I might try it.

        • +1

@AussieDaddy: Performance drops considerably for all products when tested in a top loader. By over 20% for some brands. Your best option is to stick with powders - Omo Ultiamate or Trimat Advanced which score about 64%, Fab in offer would be 53-54% (this exact fragrance not tested but two others in the range were). For interest the Omo and Trimat Advanced scored 80% in front loaders.

    • I would love to know the difference between washing powders and how they can differ?

I’ve always gotton the ‘value packs’ (Radiant or Fab) from Big W and Napisan for my jackets (whites).

    • I’m allergic to random wasging powders. Some work fine, others leave my skin red.

      So YMMV.

  • I wonder if Fab considered getting someone familiar with English, and washing powders, to do their website?

  • Lowest I can get it is for $42.99

8 years of laundry sorted. ooh lah lah

    (single, unavailable, no kids)

    • +4

A laundry powder stockpile seems like something you could list on a dating profile.

      • -8

I'm unavailable. I want a diverse and exciting sex life, not interested in relationships.

        • +2

          You sound lonely.

          Nothing 18kgs of laundry powder won't fix, let's hope…

        • +1

          @UncleRico:
Lonely? It’s a matter of choice. I don’t like commitment and I don’t like domestic company.

    • Wow dnt no how my wife uses it but i go through 9kg every 2-3months..

      • i only use half the recommended dose, it does the job. no stains or odours left.

        • single, unavailable, no kids

Funny what your washing priorities are ;)

        • +1

          @D6C1:

All i need are clean undies.

    • Lol what does unavailable mean?

Is this some new age 2018 term?

      • -1

Unavailable: a diverse and exciting sex life with no strings attached.

        • +1

Unavailable: a diverse and exciting sex life with no strings attached.

          How's that going for you

        • @D6C1:

Group activities can be fun 😂

  • Who do they use for delivery? Can I send this to a parcel locker?

    • i just did that, didnt get any warning, hope it works

      • +1

Redirected from the PL to post office because of the weight.

        • yup same, well to be fair the box wont fit into the locker anyway

  • I find the big brands have less washes per pack. The Aldi 2kg for $5.29 has 44washes

    • Well Aldi's is a concentrate and this one isn't AFAICT so the quantity of this needs to be halved for comparison.

      • So if I am generious and say the 18kg Fab is equivalent to 10kg of Aldi Almat brand then the Aldi costs as low as $25.29 for the same amount if you buy 2x4kg and 1x2kg.

        And that price is everyday

I use it and it seems great.

        • There was a deal recently, 5kg of Trimat for $15, so 10kg for $30, better than this, and Trimat ranks higher than Fab.

        • @greenpossum: Is Trimat Aldi's? I heard about how good Aldi's detergent is, but unfortunately haven't tried it yet. I might give it a go next.

        • +1

@AussieDaddy: Yes, Trimat and Almat are from Aldi.

    • I use Aldi and only use half the recommended dosage and it works well. No stains no odours. By using less, you help the water of doing its job to wash.

  • +1

Amazon is awash with these sales :D

  • +2

    If you need toothpaste…

For $35.83 you can get 1.87kg of colgate total advanced whitening delivered.

  • Thanks OP.

  • I added 10 packs to the cart and price is still $50.

    When does the discount appear?

    • "Promotion will be applied at checkout."

      It's literally in the OP.

  • Thanks op, got it for free, got 2 $20 credits from previous buy.. 😀

  • +2

You can get the cold power (for cold washes) 20kg (2kg x 7) for $40.30

    • +3

      You mean 14kg?

      • Ops yes… sorry…. I don't know how I got 20kg…. dam….

    • Thanks for that, just purchased.

  • Do I need a few years of detergent… hmmm

  • +1

"Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months."

    • +1

They need to clean up their act.

  • Thanks OP, just ordered.

  • i think it just got Ozbargained.
    no stock.

  • Thanks OP, my order got delivered today.
Whilst I didn't actually get a whopping 18kg of the stuff, I did get 2 of the Fab boxes, 2 bottles of Fabric Conditioner, 6 Toothpastes and 4 Harpic bottles. Essentials that I tend to run out of very often, so this promo really did provide a genuine saving.
    Thanks again OP.

  • Finally got my order today and Auspost had been playing football with it - powder all over place and at least half the boxes damaged. Not enough packaging.

Won't be buying this online from Amazon again.

    • Contact Amazon and they probably will refund part of your payments.

      • Yeah it was the first thing I did but I had a bit of a fight to get a decent refund. Nowhere near as good as the USA customer service.

  • Got mine on Tuesday in perfect condition, had to pick it up from the post office because it wont fit into the locker, but thats okay, i need to borrow their trolley to get it into the car anyway.I'm set for the next couple years now.
