Circulon has brought more than 25 years of style and functionality to the home, and for the day’s first piping hot cup of coffee or tea, the Circulon Sunrise Teakettle delivers both and then some. The distinctive shape of this teakettle looks fantastic on the stovetop or around the kitchen, and it boils up to 6 cups of water for delicious hot cocoa with the family or a medium to large pot of English breakfast tea with friends.

A whistle pleasantly signals when the water is at the boil, and the handle’s squeeze-and-pour spout is easy to operate. This teakettle’s handsome blend of style and utility also complements other great Circulon cookware to add even more design to your kitchen.

Why would anyone want a stovetop kettle in a country with 230V mains? It makes more sense in countries like the US with only 110V.

    • electricity costs much more than gas

        1) An induction stovetop would be electric, and 2) the cost to boil water using electricity vs gas would be insignificant I'd imagine

        • If you have solar gas is MUCH cheaper, like x10 or x20 or more.

      Power outages.

      • You usually need power to ignite gas stoves as I discovered during a power failure.

          Matches?

      • This is an induction stove top kettle though.

But the circulon website description says it's NOT induction

      Camping.

      • Camping

True, but not with a flash kettle like this one.

    • Because an induction top will boil your water quicker than most electric kettles. And it doesn't take up bench space.

      • -2

Some quick checks with Google seems that's not the case. Results I found was 0.75L Water taking ~4min to boil on induction, ~7min for electric coil, ~8min for gas (though this was in a pot, a kettle might be faster). Most electric kettles will boil 1L of water in around 4 minutes.

So is it induction or not?!
Description from circulon says EXCLUDING induction

  • There seem to be quite a few items on sale at myer
