Wanting to upgrade from my iPhone SE and also switch to android.
I want to buy the phone OUTRIGHT and not on a plan.
This seems like the best phone that seems to be fairly priced and fits my needs, however I would like to get one for around $850?
If so, please let me know as I'm quite interested in a Pixel 2

What's the differences between AU stock and stock from another country?
I'm guessing if something screws up with the phone it will be sent to a repair depot overseas?? Anything else?Australian stock means you are covered by Australian Consumer Law (ACL). This means that if you have an issue with the item the government (specifically Consumer Affairs or equivalent in your state) will force the business to do the reasonable thing if you contact them with a complaint.
Note that this is unaffected by any warranties that are offered: ACL applies regardless of anything else, period. This means warranties are worthless in many cases.
The "reasonable" part means what is expected for the amount paid. For example it may be reasonable to expect a $300 washing machine to last 3 years but it's unreasonable that a $1500 washing lasts this long, a more reasonable period may be 10 years.
They do not publish what is reasonable. I have never had a claim rejected by them FWIW.
Personally I think all of this ACL is not worth paying much if anything for if a grey import is cheaper unless the item is very expensive.
The problem comes if you consider every time you buy something: if you pay say a 10% premium to be covered by ACL everytime you buy a low cost item such as a phone then you are paying more than if you paid a lower grey import price for all items you bought and replaced broken items that needed to be returned - or at least this is my experience. I have only ever had one phone stop working so it makes no sense to pay more for the low chance of avoiding an additional cost.
The usually have a warehouse in Sydney. You send the phone to Sydney for them to check it. If its DOA they send you the refund and if it's damaged etc they try to repair it themselves or in most scenarios they send it back to the sellers. This is how I got my refund for a phone that had a boot loop issue and yes I am not talking about LG it was sealed pack S7edge phone.
Why not the $59/month telstra deal?
I'm also keen to buy a pixel2, but I want the 128GB version (since I know 64GB will end up full and reduce the usefull life of the phone). 128GB is not an option on the JB/Telstra $59 deal.
looking for this deal too . pixel 2 128gb

If you want AU stock around that price, I think you'll have to wait for the next deal to come up:
