Seems like a good deal, the 62gb one is better then Optus.

  • first optus, 60GB for $50, now voda 62GB for $50

Be interesting when Telstra shares the love and what they offer.

Not sure how much effort people would go through to churn for 2GB difference between carriers at these caps

  • Holy shit. I didn't get the Pixel 2 XL deal, so this looks pretty decent. Although I barely use 10gb.

    • Although I barely use 10gb.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, even now I'm on 23gb a month and I have to go out of my way to use all of that up.

  • +1

I'm paying $64 a month with 60gb of data+that includes a student discount for one year. I guess it was worth it because i got a bonus 30,000 Qantas points which i used to buy Woolworth e-gift cards.

  • Dammit if i wasn't stuck on the family plan i would've taken this deal.

    • Did you try calling Vodafone? I’m also on a family share plan and my sim plan is $50 a month with less data and contract doesn’t end until Sept. I actually called twice because the first guy said it can’t be done without paying an early exit fee so I just hung up and called back straight away and spoke to someone else. The second guy straight away said no problem and changed my data to 42gb without any fees what so ever and it’s still shared. I explained to him about the first guy and he actually apologised for him saying he doesn’t know why he would say I needed to pay. So best to call up and ask

      • Yeah i did call a vodafone guy (and someone who works there that i know) and i had to pay the early exit fee to get out of the contract. Nice that you got it, seems like the second guy was more than generous to cut off that early exit fee.

Maybe i'll try some other time. The family plan is still good.

        • Call again and tell them that if you have to pay the exit fees you might as well do that and move to Optus. That should do the trick. I'm on shared plan too, rang them and they said "Normally we would charge you for early termination but you should be able to get away with it this time without paying anything."

  • 62gb is nice.. I thought unlimited plans would be coming out soon but if it's anything like the US those plans would have a fair use clause. For Verizon it's only 22gb at full speed before you get throttled lol. 62gb at full speed is probably better than what unlimited plans will be like.

  • Hmmm, this morning the deal was 60GB for $50 and included 300 minutes of calls to selected countries and 1000 minutes of eligible countries. It was known as a "Vodafone SIM Only Global Plan". Got a screenshot at 11.07am this morning.

Now clicking on the link it says 62GB for $50 but none of the free minutes.

I'm not sure what others would want but I would gladly sacrifice 2GB of data for the free international minutes as I seriously do not think I'll touch even 30GB if pressed hard.

    • +1

Nope that deal is still here!
Basically when you're on the page (linked page) click the icon to go next till you see it.

      • Ahhhh. You are correct! Excellent catch!

        • Worth another deal post for it?

With the $70 for 70GB you get extra 2000 minutes to eligible countries

    • Hi @DanielH, any chance you still have that screenshot and could share?

I took that deal after taking 10gb lesser deal a fee days before. Vodafone upgraded me after a call, but have now rolled back to lower plan and denying this deal exited. Hoping that screenshot might convince them.

      Thanks, Daniel R

      • Yep. Got the screenshot. Just PM me your email or let me know how to post my PIC onto this site.

For the record it says 60GB data in Oz for $50 per month (used to by $60).
        Vodafome SIM Only Global Plan
        300 Mins to Selected Countries
        1000 Mins to Eligible Countries
10,000 Qantas Points online (if you get the deal online though)
The 'Hot Offers' that were applied to this deal were:
        1. Get $10 off plan fees
        2. Get 32gb bonus data
        3. Get 10gb Bonus data
Plus 2 others that were not part of my screenshot

        • Thanks very much. I've sent a PM, though not sure if your account is set to get them. Their complaints manager is calling me today.

Alternatively, if you want to upload to Imgur and share the link here, others could use it in case there are more people with the same issue?

        • @TheLurker: Sent. Hopefully you should have by now.

  • I just joined the $36 plan for 20gb, I wonder if I can get upgraded to the $45 plan if I'm within the 30 day satisfaction guarantee.

    • +1

      Doesn't hurt to ask!

    • Yes you can. I just did.

      • They said they could only upgrade me to a 32GB plan, might have to get a different person.

  • +1

Voda SIM only Broadband Data plan 12 months 30GB data = $45/month.

Voda SIM Only Phone Plan 12 months Unlimited Voice and Text, 40GB data, + 1000 Mins Intl calls to Selected / 200 Mins to other, also = $45/month.

I don't think the Optus / Voda marketing depts and web programmers can keep up with what's going on ..
Also starting to wonder whether marketing guys are talking to the network capacity engineers ..

  • Is this good deal for someone who need around 60gb per month data?

    • +1

Optus had the same deal bud 2GB less for the same price, so yeah.

  • Weird click the link, 64gb ia $62 not $50. Is this expired?
