Has anyone had any luck downgrading the firmware to use Fanghacks?
I have tried every guide I can find and none seem to work for me.

I followed these same instructions months ago and it worked for me.

Tried the method you describe and following the video many times :( also tried the fang-hacks website instructions.
Do you guys have the cameras with the pin hole reset button or the button reset button?

Why downgrade. any issues with the new firmware?
I need the earlier firmware to use fanghacks.
The Mi app is fairly unreliable for me, I'd say about 20% of the time I can't access one of my cameras.
There's also OpenIP Cam which is based on FangHacks, it includes the downgrade firmware.
I got it working on one of my cams, haven't done the other yet.
I worked it out, somewhere I read that it needs a 4gb sd card to do the downgrade. Worked first go using the same instructions I was doing before. Thanks everyone!

get fanghacks v0.2.0 https://puu.sh/zI5To/dc5e1178ac.zip
image fanghacks 0.2.0 onto your sdcard using win32diskimager
extract the contents of the firmware onto the sdcard
rename 0.elf to FIRMWARE660R.bin (you will need file name extensions visible to rename this properly https://puu.sh/zI5VN/bc5156618e.png)
whack it in your camera and while you power up the camera hold the setup button for a good 10 seconds
leave it for 5-10 mins
power it off and take the sdcard out
turn it on
set it up as per normal via the mi home app (can check firmware here)
make a clean fanghacks 0.2.0 image on the scard
insert newly formatted fanghacks image and connect to camera
it took me maybe 3-4 attempts to get it right, your mileage may vary
