Quite terrible? How so? Please show me the SANDISK EXTREME Pro microSD UHS-I CARD 64gb for cheaper.
I agree that it's a pretty good price for the extreme pro (eventhough it's a pretty standard price on ebay with 20%off at shopping square… They mark it up for the sale)
There are a few cheaper on ebay but there are lots of complaint that they are fake so this is the one I normally get myself… I've got 5 of them over the past 12 months
Yep exactly! Wouldn't trust random ebay ads.
Price in title please
Oops! I did put price in title, but somehow it didn't post with it. Fixed now :)
bought an A1 64gig sandisk card from amazon for about $32. no sure if the v30 makes it $16 better.
That's the ultra. Extreme is faster and can handle 4K. Did you get it from amazon australia?
Memory card companies would like you to believe that you definitely need an expensive high-speed card for all 4K recording.
It's just marketing.
It's not the resolution that determines what speed memory card you need, it's the bitrate.
A GoPro Hero 5 records 4K video at 60Mbps, the Hero 6 in ProTune mode tops out at 78Mbps. That's 7.5MB/s and 9.75MB/s.
My oldest cheap class 10 SanDisk cards do over 20MB/s, all my newer cheap cards do at least 40MB/s. I've been using those cheap cards in my GoPros for 4K recording since the Gopro 5 and they've worked fine.
If you're still after a high speed card, the Samsung Evo Select U3 cards from Amazon are hard to beat. A 128GB card is US$45 delivered which is about $58. Write speeds are about 80MB/s.
lol, I love the price differences between 128gb and 256gb still. Double the storage for thrice the price.
@ONEMariachi: Yeah, that's what storage prices are like. Lower-yield, lower-volume cards will cost more. Once 256GB cards become more common, the price differential will drop.
For those who don't need to fast write speed, it's definitely a waste of money but there are genuine different between these cards that justify the higher price…
Not everyone needs these but for those who do it's a pretty decent price for it

Yes, but the OP bought it for a GoPro which will not benefit from the extra speed.
Also, clearly the memory card companies marketing has worked on several people here, judging from the negs. :)
People who definitely need a V30 card will know it, people who don't will very likely be using equipment that won't benefit from it.
@eug:
Actually GoPro recommends the Extreme and not the Ultra. See here https://gopro.com/help/articles/Block/microSD-Card-Considera…
If you're still wondering, try searching support forums. GoPros have serious issues with Sandisk Ultra cards. It's not just about the speed, it's more of a compatibility issue.
Actually GoPro recommends the Extreme and not the Ultra.
GoPro doesn't test every card on the market, so their list can't include every card that works fine.
I use a Samsung microSD card in mine and it works just fine.
If you want to strictly go by their recommendation for the Hero 6 Black, the Extreme works perfectly - there is no benefit to paying extra for the Extreme Pro. Even more (cheaper) cards work fine with the Hero 5 Black.
The write speed difference between the two cards (20MB/s vs around 90MB/s) makes it worth $16 if you need it. If you are just using it for storing movies or music then the normal one is fine
Holy crap they excluded a lot of cards to come up with their conclusion LOL.
That's an excellent price for a SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB.
People shouldn't compare SanDisk Ultra or other slower cards to this one as there is a big difference in write speeds.
Thanks for posting mate. Was just in need of a 64GB SD card for my camera.
Probably worth putting the price in the title.
PS, not very good for the price. Actually quite terrible.
